Customers find the heat gun efficient, with one mentioning it's critical for drywall repairs, and they appreciate its quality and build, with one noting the heavy-duty rocker switch.

This heat gun lasted 7 months before the heating element died. Read more
This heat gun has an industrial metal body, heavy duty rocker switch, and a three position metal stand. The metal stand aims the gun at 0, 45, or 90 degrees. It screws into the body. It can be removed. The only dis-advantage of this tool is that is it a lot heavier than the typical heat gun. I use it in a body shop environment so heavy is ok (it has a stand). It is designed to be run constantly, but make sure to use to fan only setting to cool the elements after using it. The business end can get very hot! Heavy duty cord (3 prong). Read more
Got this as a Christmas present for my friend who runs a painting and drywall business. So far it’s doing everything as advertised and holding up. Read more
I returned it only because it didn’t have more air volume than my current one. But it’s solid and hot and pretty low noise. Quality heat gun. Read more
Used lightly, on the bench for shrink tubing once or twice a week. Heating element just failed. No replacement available. Total waste of money. Didn’t last, past return window. Buy something else. Read more

I bought this item to blister paint and heat old caulk based on overall positive reviews. Pros: * Good quality construction. * Includes a stand to allow using the tool while setting on your bench. * Dead simple to operate. Switching to "on" turns on single speed fan and all heaters. It is not possible to change the number of energized heaters; you adjust vent shutter to regulate temp. Cons: * Made in China (isn't everything?) * Nameplate temperature says rating is 1000°F - 1100°F. However, the operating instructions say temp range is 500°F - 750°F. I haven't directly measured the temp range at nozzle to validate either claim. * Air flow is just adequate; would like more volume. However, more air flow would require more heater power to maintain temperature; the tool is already rated at 13 amps @ 110VAC, which is the limit for household outlets. Notes: * There is only one fan speed; "on". However, temp at the surface you're heating can easily be adjusted by changing the distance from the nozzle. * Output air temp is regulated by throttling air flow using the fan ventilation shutter, which means temp increases as the air flow is reduced. However, it also means that higher temps have even less air flow at the nozzle. The best use of this tool seems to be applications like blistering small areas of paint and heating heat shrink wire insulation, where accurately controlling the nozzle temp is not important. Applications that require narrow temperature bands, like softening various types of PVC and plastic without melting, need a tool with more temperature precision that this one. And for blistering large areas of paint fairly quickly, such as in wooden home siding, propane is the way to go. Read more
