I purchased this to test whether my grounding mat was actually working, and in terms of functionality, it does what it’s supposed to do. I was able to confirm that my mat is grounded. However, I ran into a few usability issues that are worth mentioning for anyone considering this, especially if you’re not familiar with electrical tools. The wires are not long enough to easily connect to the grounding port without lifting the device up. In my case, the outlet is positioned much higher than normal, which made it impossible to keep the tester flat on the bed while connected. Because of that, I couldn’t touch the mat properly while it was hanging between the outlet and the bed, which affected the measurement setup. To get a usable reading, I had to touch the mat with my foot instead, which worked, but wasn’t ideal. Another challenge was the instructions. They were not very beginner-friendly. I’m not an electrical tech person, so I had to watch YouTube videos and read online guides to fully understand how to use the tester correctly. Very nice multi meter and easy to use. I would recommend this multi meter and the price point was very good I ordered 2 one was a Christmas present and one for myself. The website said that their was a newer version of this model but it also cost a little more so I ordered the original model and am happy with it.It is a basic multi meter good for use around the house and garage. Beautiful design, rubberized body very easy to hold and light weight. I found the ability to backlight the readings is the very best I have ever seen, this feature would sell me instantly. Would definitely purchase again and would highly recommend due to apparent quality and ease of use. One last note; the probes are very well made. For the surprisingly low price this is a fine unit.
