I am not a smoker; so, when my old Samsung monitor emitted a cloud of smoke the other day, I knew I needed a replacement. It served as a second monitor for my desktop rig. My main requirement is decent color with very crisp, easy to read text. I park things like File Explorer and copies of source files on the second monitor. This Asus unit was easy to put together and is super easy to read. It is clear and easy on the eyes. My only "complaint" is the stand is not very tall, so I need a book or board to raise the height (a symptom of Cluttered Desk Syndrome). It would be a perfect height if used along side a laptop. It is saving a little desktop area and is perfect for my needs. I am not an action gamer, so have not evaluated the Asus VY229HE in that role. Read more

It doesn’t say this anywhere for some reason but this monitor has DisplayWidget!!! Meaning if you have another ASUS monitor this monitor is a perfect addition. My main monitor is a 32 inch ASUS so this is a perfect small companion to go along side with it, highly recommend if you have an ASUS monitor and are looking for a small sidekick for it. Read more

Not great, but not bad, it doesn't work that well with fast paces games! It is better then having a T.V.. It is on the low end of Asus's products, so its not going to be super good, but it is more then good enough if you do grand-strategy, puzzles, or non-fast competitive games, watching videos, and movies are good as well on this monitor.
