It works exactly as intended. I've used it to repair thin plastic without issue. Read more
This tool worked remarkably well for repairing cracks in the plastic hood of my lawn tractor. Read more
It works well and is rather easy to use. There are videos online showing how to use it. The staple heats up fast (turns orange/red) then you lightly press it on the piece you're working on and it quickly melts into the plastic. Let go of the trigger and after about two seconds pull the gun off the staple. Cut the ends of the staple off with the included wire cutters. So fast and easy. I fixed two broken spots on a plastic radiator shroud along with the tab that secures the headlamp assembly to the car. Read more
Everyone needs this in their tool cabinet. Super easy to use and essentially makes torn or broken plastic back to its original strength. Love this Read more
The first step to using this item is to remove the yellow handled wire cutters and throw them as far as you can. Order some quality wire cutters. The staples included work well and can be bent for applications like dashboards where the tool angle is inadequate. Read more
Box came broken but not a big deal since I can fix it with this lol. Anyways, used it to fix an outside chair and the gun heats up very fast! Came with plenty of stuff and definitely worth every penny! Plus it's a new toy to play with. Time will tell if it holds up. Read more

This tool works as advertised but you MUST be aware of its power and its limitations. When working with thinner plastics (1/16th-3/32" or so), the heated staple will go right through the plastic and you'll find the tool resting on the surface of the part you're trying to repair. If you act quickly you can pull the still heated staple back through the plastic, twisting it slightly to seat it, then remove the heat. I've been told the twisting motion is the key to making a good repair in any thickness of plastic. Now the fun begins: the protruding ends of the staples must be cut off flush with the plastic surface so you won't be hurt by their sharp ends. The "flush cutters" provided in the kit are a total joke-I couldn't get them to cut the staple ends at all, let alone flush to the surface. I now use a quality pair of REAL flush cutters to deal with the ends, and you can also remove them with a grinder or Dremel tool with a stone installed. Overall this tool is a pretty good value if you don't count the cutters or cheesy plastic case, both of which can be swapped out for better storage and use. Then again, at the price-point this tool comes in at, and not knowing how long it's going to last, you can always buy another one and not be too far in the hole. Read more
