My father and I share this Amazon account, and I was luckily able to purchase this before going to Rio. I have always been a Coppertone kid, but I've never found a sunscreen that always worked 100% of the time. I burn through sunscreen, windows, in any and all seasons of the year in Pennsylvania.. Basically, I was meant to be burnt to a crisp every summer- so naturally, I was somewhat dreading Rio. But this sunscreen, which apparently was harvested from God himself, was able to keep me 100% safe. I never had to use my umbrella to protect my stupid, fragile body from the sun and for the first time ever I was able to conquer what most Brazilians would consider to be tanning conditions. I was wary about trying a new sunscreen on such an important trip, but Australian Gold did not disappoint me in anyway. It also smells really good- my group members were asking who smelled so good rather frequently. Mainstream sunscreens normally smell kind of okay but with that crude touch of chemical in the back, but this sunscreen smells like a nice, light perfume. It spreads very well, so even though I was applying to my arms, legs, face, chest, and neck about 6 times per day, I haven't even used half of this bottle (plus people were also borrowing from me intermittently) In essence: This stuff is great. They say that the best sunscreen is the sunscreen that you will use, so for me that is what this is! I wish it were unscented, just because the scent is only ok to me, slightly tropical but also slightly plastic/fake smelling, and since scent can be sensitizing I could just do without it. But the formula is very good, it goes on so smoothly, feels moisturizing but not too greasy. I have been trying to find a mineral sunscreen that I like, but in the end they all either leave a white-cast or feel very dry/powdery on my skin so I don't enjoy using them. This is just easier for me to reapply and something that I will reapply to my hands and body throughout the day. Read more
Best sunscreen out there! I usually burn quite easily. I used to wear the banana boat sport sun screen anywhere from SPF 30 to 45, yet somehow I always got burnt. I'm usually pretty good about re-applying so I'm not sure if banana boat wears off faster but I've been using Australian Gold for the last 2 years and it protects better than any sun screen I've used so far. And the smell is absolutely awesome! I love it! Definitely adds that tropical, relaxing, beachy feel when you wear it! 2/15/16 I just wanted to add to this review that I just got back from 5 days in Mexico and I never got burnt. I only needed to reapply once per day and I'm not sure if I even needed to do that much, I just did because I'm used to reapplying with other brands. This sun screen is honestly the best out there! This is great sunscreen. The scent is the best in the industry in my opinion. It's a little thick but nothing a pair of strong hands can't fix lol. It's great with sweat too. Again nothing to complain about with this product. Read more
After hearing that suntan lotion that is above SPF 30 doesn't do much, I decided to take a closer look at SPF 30 lotions. Because of my very fair skin that is prone to burning (I just don't tan), I was spending lots of money on SPF 45, 65, even 85 thinking that I needed it. SPF lotion with that high of a number tend to go on thick like icing and don't smooth into my skin. Reading other reviews about Australian Gold and how it smelled great got my attention and I tried it out. I couldn't be happier that I did. The smell is delicious that I have to keep my boyfriend at bay so he doesn't start eating my arms and legs while we are on the beach. I've let many people use it and they all agree that it is a strong but not a deterring smell. I reapply every two hours and use generously. I've haven't been burned all season so far using this product and like I said, I don't tan I burn. I've ordered a couple more bottles of this just to get through the summer! We used to get this brand of sunblock at the beginning of the season for the beach I lifeguarded at. Loved the scent then and love it now, still the best smelling sunblock I’ve ever found and works well too. Read more
