Time-consuming to Setup but WELL worth the Effort

I just finished installing this into a ceiling detail above my family's media/playroom. I followed some YouTube videos for reference and although it was very time consuming pre-drilling and hot gluing each strand of fiber into every hole, it was not not "difficult" per se, just laborious. The final result was just beautiful, especially at night obviously. The brightness of the light emitter was far enough to make the entire project just pop and as you move throughout the space, the fiber optic lights seem to almost twinkle, making for an unexpectedly realistic night-sky impact. It took me nearly 50 hours of labor (all done myself) to get the system installed and another 20 hours of finish work to close in the surrounding edges with trim, texture the recessed boxed-in edges with mud, and then mask and paint the whole thing to match the theme of the rest of the room. I’m halfway done as this is tons of work, my install includes skimming ceiling, priming, drilling, feeding wires, painting, clipping back flush with drywall to enjoy the final product… and also I DID cut my stars completely flush to skimmed Flat drywall smooth finish and I think it looks better than leaving small tails or bits out… it looks perfect where as leaving out left more halos around the light, they said opposite online so as long as you skim over popcorn or finish smooth CUT FLAT with ceiling it looks amazing Read more
