These are not stretchy (except for the smocking at the waist which is frankly a brilliant design idea and is flattering to all kinds of bodies!) but the fabric does drape beautifully—again, brilliant design. They’re the comfiest and snazziest pair of pants going; you can dress them way up or way down and they have a lovely boho flair. You can do so much with these. Combat boots and a black turtleneck sweater in the winter with some leggings underneath for warmth and you look just as good as you would with a black tank and sandals. I picked up the black line design and they’re eye catching as heck, striking and smart. The base color is more of a cream than a white and they look and feel crisp and cool, the fabric is soft to the touch and very light. Just for the people out there who find this information is useful; I’m 5’5” and 118 lbs and they fit very well. The length is just right and hits mid ankle as seen on the model in the picture. If you’re in a hot and muggy climate? these are perfect. I’m on the verge of picking up another pair for myself and a few pairs for friends, for the holidays. Honestly, I wear them all the time and they get positive comments from pretty much everyone. Love the look of these pants! They are comfortable and light, but the ankle elastic is pretty small. They fit great as pants, but when I pull them up to mid calf I can't get them to go any farther. For reference, the largest they stretch at the ankle is 11" circumference. The top is nice with a wide elastic band that fit great! The pattern is fun and the material is 100% rayon with a cotton-like feel. It was neat that the seller sent an extra care how-to sheet with the pants to keep them from fading or shrinking. My only gripe is that the material is so thin. I have a feeling if they snagged on something, they would rip really easily. I had another pair of harem pants like these that ripped in the rain. They got wet, clung to my thighs, and tore super easily when I went to stand up. Whoops! You might consider wearing some volleyball shorts underneath for this reason. I was considering wearing these to the renaissance festival, but I'm worried they won't hold up for that kind of costume. These are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn! I work out to Tai Chi in the morning and wear these. These have the capability to stretch out when you are doing leg bends and stretching. The string is long enough to wear as a jump suit in the summer time as well. The waistband is stretchy enough to fit comfortably too. I have several pairs of these pants. The only downside is everyone loves pockets and these DO NOT have pockets. If they make some with pockets, I would by all of them! Click it or skip it? CLICK IT! These are fun and fabulous! My intention was to alter them at the waist when ordering the Plus Size to get the longer length, however they fit perfectly. The smocked waist is not tight or loose, it's just right. I'm a size 0 in women's, a 3 in juniors. 5'7" with a 32.5 inseam, 33 preferred. These look so cute with black pant boots and a black belt over a fitted black top, over or under the waistband. I love these for their comfort and bohemian style, that IMHO is always on trend...according to my way of thinking. 😁 I wash ALL rayon, silk, delicate fabrics and anything I want to live a long time in netted bags and hang dry. These are rayon which I love for their ease of de-wrinkling. After all hung to dry clothes are dry, simply pop in the dryer with a wet, wrung out hand towel for 5 or less minutes on low. When traveling, steaming up the bathroom shower with the clothes hung nearby will typically work, too. Ironing on low works, too. I had thought to cut out the white liner but it doesn't effect the fit. I haven't tested the opacity in light. I'm totally delighted with the quality and fit. I know rayon is delicate but it's airiness, summer coolness, lightweight quality, and softness against the skin is worth the effort when washing. Btw, my clothes live a very, very, long time.
