This is a good seed starting compound. It arrives as a compressed hard block. Just cut the top off the bag and pour in about a gallon and a half of water. It expands to about 3 times its original size. You can user it straight out of the bag or pour it into a container. It works great and retains the moisture needed for the plants. Liked the coconut coir, earthy smell but I'm cool with that. My seedlings did good in it no bugs in mine, from what I seen in other views. I almost canceled my order because of the reviews I'm glad I didn't. That's why you need to try things out for yourself. The only issue my bag was not sealed good the back was already opened. Awesome !!! Very good and easy to rehydrate mine took a little over a gallon and a half super light weight! Was able to fill 10 18-count egg cartons and barely make a dent in the pack so far I have had spinach, Brussels, arugula, and broccoli sprout in between 2 and 4 days after planting adding nothing to amend it ! Ummm the dirt is fine I think but this time around the bag was THICKLY COVERED in dead flies it was disturbing! I thought it was caked on dirt but it was not eek! I haven’t opened the bag yet but I hope there isn’t a pest infestation inside… Read more

This is exactly as advertised. It’s dirt. Dirt particular to growing succulents. I’ve used it on my various cactus plants and they grow beautifully because the dirt was formulated to do that. Please don’t be surprised if you order this and get a bag of dirt, that’s what this is … dirt. Read more

The soil itself appears to be very good quality. It is light and fluffy, and already contains a small amount of perlite, which is a nice bonus. I was happy with the texture and overall condition of the soil. However, when it arrived, the bag had multiple holes in it — almost as if it had been chewed through — and soil had leaked inside the shipping box. In addition, a spray bottle that was packed together with the soil arrived broken. The spray head was damaged, likely due to the weight of the soil during shipping. While this may be an Amazon packaging issue rather than the seller’s fault, the overall delivery condition was disappointing. The product itself seems excellent, but the damaged packaging really needs improvement. Read more
