This is a decent lightweight balaclava for the price but definitely left my hopes dashed. I was really excited to try out a new style and thought the more movable face shield would be amazing. I was thrilled that a one size item actually fit my larger than average skull so I was surprised and disappointed when the face portion was so disproportionately large. The hood piece provides a soft lightweight insulation that was very comfortable under my helmet but the oddly loose face shield was a deal breaker and quite annoying. I always started with it fully tucked into my goggles but the soft fabric does not breathe as well as I had hoped, forcing me to remove during periods of exertion. It also saturated quite easily just from my breathing, making it very uncomfortable to place back over my skin on a chillier lift. As demonstrated in the various photos taken over two days the face mask does not stay in place well and ends up askew, exposing your skin to the elements. The textured panel over the mouth region also showed signs of significant wear and tear after a single very low-use season given the early spring conditions. During a normal winter I don't think this mask would last a month let alone a full season. Read more

I love this balaclava. It's super warm, and it fits well under my motorcycle helmet. It feels to be of really good quality, and the stitching is great. I've had to wash it multiple times already, and it's been holding up great, and the fleece is still soft. I can't say much about the hair protection, as it does tend to absorb moisture, leaving your hair dry afterward. Overall, I'm super satisfied with this balaclava. Read more

He has lived in Florida for over thirty years, so cold-weather gear really has to perform for him to stay comfortable, especially when sitting still for long periods in a tree stand. He used this on several frigid mornings, including before sunrise when temperatures were at their lowest. The fleece-lined interior provided noticeable warmth without feeling heavy, and it did an excellent job blocking wind around his face and neck. It fit nicely under his hat and stayed in place without shifting, which is essential when layering cold-weather gear. Even in freezing conditions, he stayed warm and comfortable for hours. One thing to keep in mind is that this balaclava is designed for cold and windy weather. It may be too warm for mild temperatures or high-activity use, especially in warmer climates. Overall, this balaclava exceeded expectations for freezing cold hunting conditions. It’s an excellent option for hunters, skiers, or anyone spending extended time outdoors in freezing weather. This balaclava has a comfortable fuzzy material on the inside that feels good against my skin. The outside is a moisture wicking material. It's easy to pull on and off my head and pull down the mask part if I need to. I don’t care for the logo on the outside, but this does exactly what I want. It protects my head and neck from the cold, and keeps my sinuses moist during winter travel–especially on plane flights. Read more
