Thinner than expected

These are an average pair of biker shorts. The fabric is thinner than I expected, though they appear to be sewn well and have a wide band to help prevent the top from rolling down. Given the thinness, they won’t be particularly forgiving in terms of concealing or blurring any aspects of your figure in that area, that may otherwise have been concealed by thicker, more substantial fabric. The fabric is lightweight, and the black color is a deep enough hue. However the shorts have grey toned stripes around the curvature of the bottom, and I don’t care for that design accent, and the stripes weren’t apparent to me from the product images. In person, these stripes are quite visible and I’m already a shapely body type so I don’t need this extra accentuation around my bottom; these biker shorts are noted as being “butt lifting”, which must be the intention of the stripes, however they’re clearly only for visual effect as they don’t actually perform any ‘shaping’ or ‘lifting’ in my experience. Further to this, I don’t find that they necessarily have any real tummy control either (maybe it's just me being accustomed to the feeling of tummy control, from light to firm levels) – I don’t need it to any extreme degree, but I do like garments that have some form of shaping/compression. I really wouldn’t consider these to even be light compression, personally, they just fit regularly and feel regular in the tummy area to me; I did order a size larger because of anticipating the tummy control feature and wanting to ensure a proper fit, though that was unnecessary, I now see. While these are a good, basic pair of biker shorts that wear comfortably, I believe they’re priced a bit higher than I’d expect to pay. Read more

Good compression shorts

These compression shorts have...not sure what to call them, but there are specific areas that have a sewn in line so that it lifts your bottom. They are very compressive but I plan on wearing them under short dresses or under other, baggy shorts. I like the wide band at the top which helps to prevent them from rolling down during normal activity (although they still tend to roll a bit while sitting). Read more

Great support and super comfortable; top rolls down when bending over

I got these for my daughter, who stated they were very comfortable and offered plenty of support. But you would expect compression shorts to have that extra bit of support. These did. Hugged the legs perfectly and compressed the tummy area with ease. HOWEVER, the one drawback, which would aggravate me to no end, was the fact that the tummy area rolled down every single time she bent over. You would expect compression shorts to stay exactly where they're supposed to be. So... with that said, if you want good compression shorts to wear during exercising, these are great. Just don't bend over. Read more

Love them, run small

I would expect a size medium to fit me comfortably (5'3, 140) but these were a smidge too tight, which is really disappointing because I loved them otherwise. The material is so soft, the color is gorgeous! I read other people not liking the lines, but they were hardly noticeable on the gray color. Very flattering - may have to lose a couple of pounds to make them work for me :) Read more

Love Baleaf

Their workout clothes are always high quality and buttery soft and these shorts are no exception. My only minor gripe is the waistband is a bit tighter than other Baleaf items I have, it is almost like trying to get Spanx on! They do look cute once they're on, though. Read more

Flattering and snatching, but no cell phone pocket

These workout shorts are a very comfortable and flattering length. They have significant compression, so they definitely hold things in. The material feels thinner than I expected, but they are not see-through. There is some reflective seaming that helps accentuate all the curves. The color is gorgeous. No pockets, though, so that's a bummer for me. But these are great for a variety of workouts for sure. Read more
