At 5'4 and 170 I was concerned about length so also ordered 7 inch inseam. These 5 inch inseam shorts won and are perfect. They're Long enough to cover upper thighs but short enough to not look frumpy. I did order XL and they fit great. Also, the shorts liner inside is so comfy. I just wore these kayaking and they’re my new favorite water shorts. Comfortable waistband with cording that has a stoplock. Love the zippered pockets most of all.
