I got this so my husband could make his own espresso. It works, and is about a third of the cost of the next cheapest electric pot. Amazon has it at the best price. This "Six cup" pot uses just a tad under 250ml of water for a full pot. The top part is plastic of some sort, so don't be too rough with it, and don't drop it. (Duhhh.) The bottom is aluminum, just like a Bialetti pot. The electric base has a nice safety feature - if you pick up the pot, the heat switches off. This makes it far less likely that you will set the house on fire. There is a little red indicator light in the rocker switch so you can easily see if the pot is on. It's very easy to use - my 11-year-old can make a nice cup of coffee. Maybe the only peculiarity is that it takes a lot of turns to screw the top to the bottom. I can live with that. You can't immerse the bottom. Unless your hand is tiny, you won't be able to get inside the aluminum bottom to clean the corners - which you SHOULD do fairly frequently. I've found the best thing to reach all the corners is a 1" paintbrush. A baby bottle brush would probably work as well. The paintbrush works in the top part, and on the filter at the bottom of the top piece too. Fill with hot water, add a drop of Dawn, swish paintbrush. Rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse. Nice clean pot. (Cleaning keeps the coffee acids from etching the pot parts too.) Sometimes the pot will emit some coffee out the side, through the joint between top & bottom. If this happens, it usually means you neglected to clean the filter on the underside of the pot. Pour a little off, and then let it keep brewing. Drink your coffee, then clean your pot. The pot includes a little metal disc for when/if you ever want to make half a pot. We have never used it, so I can't comment on how/whether it works. We don't make half-pots. This pot has been used probably 5 times a day for a month now, and it still works very well. It has saved us a ton of money, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Read more

This coffee maker makes 6 espresso cups of coffee. So if you are looking for a good cup of strong coffee this works great. I bought it to replace a Bialetti. I still use the Bialetti but it leaks and sometimes just does not work; so I decided to try another brand. This one was the lowest cost and had a high rating. Upside: The clear top eliminates the need to check and see what's happening. Once the percolating starts it is done in a few seconds. My Bialetti dribbles out over a minute or two. I'm sure this has something to do with the power of the induction heating. The coffee tastes better and has a full flavor. The induction heater will keep the coffee hot until you pick it up. The Bialetti shuts off automatically. It uses induction heating so it is electrically efficient. Downside: I don't have any complaints. There is one odd caption on the box that says this unit is "cordless". I just want to clarify that the base has a cord for plugging the base into the wall. Read more

I had a cheaper one of these from another maker and it lasted about 6 months before it shorted out. This one seems better made , much more metal than plastic. So far so good , I like it, time will tell if it lasts Read more
