After three years, my old Black & Decker coffeemaker finally gave out. It started leaking water from the bottom. So, I decided to repurchase the same brand of coffee maker. Other than it breaking down, my coffee brew was pretty good with the old machine. I went to Amazon, my original place of purchase for the coffee machine. I noticed they had an upgraded version of the coffee machine. The new coffee maker had an option to brew iced coffee. Being that the summer is around the corner in my neck of the woods. I decided to buy this new upgraded version of the Black % Decker coffee maker. After receiving my new coffee maker, I was so excited to try a brew of iced coffee that I immediately went to try and make some. I plugged the machine into my power strip, and I got a surprise. My lights went out with a nice little spark from the power strip. Did I mention that it was 85 degrees that day? Not including the humidity. Anyway, lucky for me, I have a circuit breaker in the house. Also, lucky for me, my brand-new coffee maker did not get damaged. I do not know what caused the spark after plugging in the coffee maker. So, I decided not to try my luck again and plugged the coffee maker directly into the outlet on the wall. No sparks this time. I apologize for dragging on this review. But I wanted to describe my user experience first. Now, on to the iced coffee. I followed the instructions on making the iced coffee, but my iced coffee did not meet my expectations. It came out too watered down. I haven't tried to brew another batch of iced coffee since that day. I am sure I probably put too much ice in the pot. Even though I followed the guide on how much ice to put in the coffee. Anyway, as expected, my regular coffee came out tasting as good as the old machine's brew. I have no complaints there. The coffee maker is a bit larger than my old machine. So, it does take a bit more room on top of my countertop. The coffee maker has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a coffee maker. It has a brew later feature for setting your pot of coffee to be made at a set hour. I like to set mine to brew my pot of coffee before I get up in the morning to go to work. The coffee maker, as I mentioned, has an Iced coffee button. Although my experience with that was not good. Other users might have a different experience. It also has a strong coffee button. For those of you who like your coffee strong, such as me. So, if you are shopping for a coffee maker, you will not go wrong with this Black & Decker coffee maker. I can definitely recommend it. The glass is pretty thin and I'm a little scared of that but other than that this thing works great, after reading the bad reviews and using this coffee maker, I really don't know how they're managing those issues but you know what they say, most bad reviews are user error. I'm loving the taste and look of this maker . seems easy to clean, and a decent price, makes 12 cups and the coffee temp is good Read more
Ok but had 4 of these and all were defected. I liked it and keep trying but clean pot came on and could not try again. But customer service is great. They were going to try again. Read more
