It does a good job catching the hair. I have only used it while trimming my neck of three- or four-day-old stubble, but I imagine it would be even more useful for trimming one's whole beard off. Easy to use, though; the suction cups worked just fine. But if you have a thick neck, the velcro around the neck might not fit you. It's nice to not have to wipe down the sink and just be able to funnel the hair into the trash. However, some of the hairs are still going to stick to it, so I had to kind of bat at it to knock the hairs loose. If you have a large trash can in your bathroom, maybe that will be fine. But if you have a small trash can like most bathrooms, you might still get some hairs on the floor. I also found myself not always wanting to bother with it. I was so excited to get this “Beard Butler” for my husband, who somehow leaves hair in the sink every single time he trims. Unfortunately, I was disappointed right out of the package because one of the hooks on the suction cups was broken, so it wouldn’t attach to the mirror. The hooks are fairly flimsy plastic. I did manage to glue the broken piece back together, but I don’t expect that fix to last very long. The bib material itself is similar to a hairdresser’s cape (lightweight, easy to fold up, and simple to shake clean). The suction cups seem a bit basic as well, but they should hold during a quick trim. Overall, the concept is good, and the material works well. I just wish the hooks were sturdier for longer-term use. Read more
