A Men’s Hair Management Solution
I ordered the RITARGA Men’s Beard Trimmer when my almost seven year old trimmer I bought here on Amazon refused to recharge. I contacted the manufacturer and quickly realized that sending it to an authorized service center for a battery replacement would cost me more than buying something new. This particular trimmer showed up in my Amazon feed since I had previously looked at trimmers and when I saw its sale price, I knew it was for me. Although it was a brand I knew nothing of, I have never been steered wrong by Amazon and I ordered it. I was shocked by how many different men’s grooming accessories / attachments came in the kit. It markets itself as an “All in One” kit for men’s grooming needs and I don’t disagree. The manufacturer has thought of everything. It literally has every attachment I’ll ever need and some I probably will never use. The trimmer unit itself is lightweight but don’t let that fool you, this machine is uber capable when it comes to tackling mens hair - any of it! The blades are surgical grade stainless steel and are sharp, guaranteeing clean lines and even lengths across the attachment spectrum. I became a little frustrated with one adjustable length attachment when it got stuck on the trimmer head and misaligned the blades of that head. To fix it, I had to disassemble the head unit completely (springs and all) and stretch out the guard; fortunately, it went back together with an additional set of hands to hold it while I replaced the screws that keep it together. I’m pleased to report that I did successfully reassemble it without having any parts left over! Yes, it works as it should. The trimmer is comfortable in the hand and in use (generally). One word of caution, it’s on / off switch is in a terrible location. It can be turned off or on inadvertently during use or when removing it from its box that doubles as its parking place. This is an irritant to me because it snags hair if turned off in the middle of use. Lastly, I’ve observed that when using it without any guard, best results are achieved by cutting against the growth of hair (for example, I now shave my neck from bottom to top like I would if I were using a tradition razor instead of electric. If I shave top to bottom, the cutting blade only smooths down the hair I wish to cut). In all, I think this is a great kit for men’s grooming needs. Now that I’ve figured out the best ways to use it, I believe it’ll keep my hair under some semblance of control for years to come. For the price, you can’t beat it! Read more
