So far so good! I bought this to replace my ancient, battery operated, very small fabric shaver, that I had for about 15 years. Didn’t realize fabric shavers had advanced so much since then! I’m no fabric shaver expert, but I feel like this one has a lot of bells and whistles. I love the fact that it is rechargeable. No more digging around for batteries. The shaving head is large, compared to my old one. I think this will be useful for larger pieces that are in need of de-pilling—like a large blanket, coat or piece of furniture. So far I’ve used it on a couple hooded sweatshirts and I got great results! I even shaved the hood strings that looked awful with pills and pulls and loose strings. Be careful when shaving loose strings, as you have to move very quickly over the strings to avoid them getting caught up. Emptying the lint/pill container was super easy. The container itself is a nice size and will hold a lot of lint and debris. I also really love the LCD display screen. I can actually see the percentage of remaining power. It also offers 3 speed gear regulation. Which I’m assuming the lower speeds should be used on more delicate fabrics and upholsteries. The six leaf blades ensure an even and clean cut. Which by the way, they included an extra! Also included is a USB-C cable for charging the device. It does not, however, come with the charging block. But tbh who doesn’t have an extra one laying around somewhere? There is a little tiny brush included as well to sweep away lint bits from the blades. And last but not least, they included a cover for the shaving head. It snaps on and stays in place perfectly. This is an added bonus if you want to travel with this. This quickly removed all the pilling I had on a few sweaters - both wool and cashmere - making them look new again. It is very lightweight and is easy to hold and use. (I bought it to replace an old one, and this one does a far better job and the new features are great.) I like that it is rechargeable, has an LED display of battery strength, three speeds so you can adjust to the fabric. To be safe, I used the lowest setting with the plastic protective cover on for my cashmere and it worked very well. I wish it had come with a bag to store it all: The replacement head, protective cover, charger cable, and brush. I am a long term, die-hard fabric, sweater, clothing de-fuzzer & de-piller and was looking for a better fabric shaver than my old, handheld, battery operated one that just was lackluster in the de-pilling department. I have had different types of fabric shavers thru the years (25, to be exact) and my oldies but goodies seemed to work much better than the new ones out there. But, alas, I recent bought a vintage quilted bathrobe made in the good old USA (that is built like a Sherman tank) - BUT the surprise I got was the pilling - oh good gravy!! Every square inch of tiny loops of pilling within pilling, rolled into teeny, tiny tight little balls that were wedged on there like barnacles on a boat, making the fabric feel like sandpaper. I though, "I bet I can get out my trusty battery operated shaver and go to town and it will look beautiful when done. But No! The pills on this robe were hideous. I wanted to try a plug-in, so I got one on E-bay. Piece of garbage and got donated to the local thrift store. Back to square one. I decided to give this one a try. I liked it having 6 blades and 3 speeds. Rechargable, meh, but I'd try it. Well, I was shocked at the great job it did. I re-did the front left side (after spending almost an hour working on it with my battery operated one and the plug-in) and it removed 98% of the nasty pilling that was left. Felt smooth and looked almost new. Also held a charge for a long time without dropping too quickly. Hopefully it lasts a while. I always shave my fabric on a hard surface like a table or a piece of 2x6 I had down in the basement. Less chance of nicking holes in the material. Made my de-fuzzing heart glad!! Read more
