If you don't already own something from Belle Poque you really shouldn't wait any longer. I have enjoyed their clothing for years. The styles are classic but also funky. The fabrics are durable and attractive. The garments easy to care for. I've only once had a dress I wasn't absolutely crazy about the look and fit of and I have over a dozen Belle Poque garments in my wardrobe. This is the first time I've ordered a Belle Poque dress with spaghetti straps. I usually get ones with sleeves or a wider strap so I can wear a full bra with it. I was nervous about how the spaghetti strap dress would fit. I went up one size because I don't like things to be clingy and I wondered if that sizing up would mean the bodice wouldn't hold my bust in place well. That wasn't a problem since the back is gathered with stable elastic. I selected the orange color because I have a orange business dress I get a lot of compliments on and why not have a fun orange floral dress for summer in Florida? The fabric is lightweight but not transparent; the dress is lined for comfort. I machine washed the dress on delicate and hung it indoors on a rack to dry. I prefer to hang dry most of my clothes to help them last longer as machine washing and drying can be hard on garments and this is a very nice dress. My one complaint about the dress is the invisible zipper in the side doesn't pull up easily when I'm wearing it. I usually size up on things so I can put them on without assistance as I travel alone frequently and can't pack anything that I need assistance with. So although I can get into this dress without opening the zipper it would be much, much easier if the zipper flowed smoothly and allowed me to use it to get dress rather than having to contort to get in the dress with it already zipped. This dress, in light yellow with orange flowers, is a cute, rustic option for a summer party. The print reminds me of an old-timey print in a more modern spaghetti strap style. I like the a-line shape, it's very flattering. The material itself is quite light weight - it's polyester - there is no cotton here! On the plus side, it doesn't wrinkle as much. But on the downside, the print seems like it would be better suited for cotton (that's just my opinion)! I am an athletic 128lbs, 5’1, 32C, and true small. Size ordered: Small Color: Light Yellow - Orange Floral True to size and hits me at mid-shin Wow, I was not expecting this. I LOVE this dress. It’s double lined (I took care to take pictures in patches of direct sunlight to show that it is not see through), has pockets, a little stretch but not much. The waist is well placed and very flattering. The bust is so supportive (despite the small shoulder straps, points deducted for that) and the ruching on the bust is flattering without being too low cut. I actually feel comfortable not wearing a bra with it, and I am a mom of three. It is not too revealing, and does not pinch. The material is very light and airy. The print is nostalgic, very 90s or coquette feeling. The color of the light yellow is more peach toned, I am VERY fair (also why I didn’t order a white based print, which can look too stark on me) but do not feel washed out by it. I have not washed it yet but intend to wash on delicates and air dry. The material is not that slick, shiny cheap fabric that seems to dominate clothing now, it is matte with a very soft sheen. If you live in a hot climate, this is such a great sundress for you. I feel so, so pretty in it. This dressis really pretty in person and looks even nicer once it’s steamed and on the body. The floral print feels more elegant than “cheap printed” and the colors photograph well.
