I have to say straight off that I have received many compliments on this cardigan in the last few weeks since receiving it! While I personally love it and find it totally gorgeous, I rarely have people stop me to compliment my clothing choices these days, except when I've worn this cardigan! And it amuses me no end that a "Christmas sweater" can have such a positive result, when the term has become something of an open joke these days otherwise!! This cardigan is only very loosely catagorizable as such; it's a fabric rather than a knit like most cardies are, and has no buttons or fastenings of any kind. It fits beautifully, feels just wonderful against exposed skin, soft and slightly warm, with a light to medium weight. It's workmanship is of better quality than I'd hoped for, with no loose or missing sticking found, all seams even and well serged , and symetrical in all areas relevant. It feels like the seamstress had pride in this work when I wear it, and that is part of what makes this a new favorite of mine. I'm Ctually not looking forward to the end of the holidays, because I worry that I'll feel self conscious wearing it after Christmas. We will see; I don't intend to pack it away until next year. This is a cute xmas cardigan. The red is not the same red as in the photo though. There is definitely a brownish tinge to the red, but it's still a nice red, just not what I expected. The size was good but not perfect. The length of the cardigan itself is perfect but the sleeves are rather long for me. The fabric is pretty lightweight so don't be thinking sweater material because it's not, however it's perfect for layering over a comfy top without feeling all bulky. The snowflake design is nicely done. I did wash it to see if there was any shrinkage. Maybe, and I say maybe half inch at most after a cold wash and a low tumbler dry for 20 minutes. I just folded the cuff of the sleeves to shorten them a tad and will likely tack it in place from the underside. Go for it if you are looking for a nice holiday cardigan without the bulk of a sweater. Read more
