I have to say straight off that I have received many compliments on this cardigan in the last few weeks since receiving it! While I personally love it and find it totally gorgeous, I rarely have people stop me to compliment my clothing choices these days, except when I've worn this cardigan! And it amuses me no end that a "Christmas sweater" can have such a positive result, when the term has become something of an open joke these days otherwise!! This cardigan is only very loosely catagorizable as such; it's a fabric rather than a knit like most cardies are, and has no buttons or fastenings of any kind. It fits beautifully, feels just wonderful against exposed skin, soft and slightly warm, with a light to medium weight. It's workmanship is of better quality than I'd hoped for, with no loose or missing sticking found, all seams even and well serged , and symetrical in all areas relevant. It feels like the seamstress had pride in this work when I wear it, and that is part of what makes this a new favorite of mine. I'm Ctually not looking forward to the end of the holidays, because I worry that I'll feel self conscious wearing it after Christmas. We will see; I don't intend to pack it away until next year. This is an extremely thin/lightweight material. However, it is soft and very comfortable. It is a deep red color. I like the way the hem has different lengths; it looks stylish. It is a true to size fit. I did wash it on cold/delicate and then air dried it in my machine and it came out nice. You will need to hang this to avoid the wrinkles. I usually don’t wear a lot of sweaters because they tend to make me feel too hot or seem to become itchy. I was happy that this sweater is on the thin side, yet stills provides just enough coverage to go without a coat in 55-60 degree weather. This is definitely not an UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER, but instead is a beautifully unique sweater that you will want to proudly show off. I’ve worn it a couple times and received many compliments.
