Yeah, no, it works and it's pretty great

TL;DR it's actually fantastic and is the best you can ask for for $159 on amazon and worlds better with my experience of the recommended vivo mount. It's solid. I don't see any problems with the machining and everything is pretty snug, much more snug than the $100 vivo one that I got in the mail, broke, and returned in the same day. The paint is a little scuffy in which that there are some parts that seem to have less layers of the white coating but at the end of the day, fantastic stuff. Seems pretty simple to put together and mount and they got instructions. It has a screw for 180 and 360 locking, the hex screws that tighten the parts together is nicely recessed a little bit, adds a bunch of premium points compared protruding small little philips screws from the vivo. Mounting it on the table has 2 pads, one for the bottom and one for the top and I don't think I'll have any complaints. May cause warping on the table in the long run but not sure based on the thickness of the pads and the size of the base. There is quite a lot of granularity with the things you can adjust which is a pro and a con. Be prepared to get an arm work out tightening and loosening those parts, especially after you get it to work with a G9 and then swap it out for a 5" monitor that you are using since the odyssey is broken. Seems like a very specific scenario but hey, happened to me. It is definitely work to move and pivot the monitor but I also didn't put too much time in adjusting the tightness or so to see if it can alleviate some of that work for me, I just tested it out. You probably can get more tilt out of what I managed which looked like a pretty solid double digits tilt, I just wanted to test it shortly that it could. It acts like how you would expect a normal monitor arm to act given the constraints on the degrees of freedom that it can rotate and move to. It's definitely something to behold since it, for the dozen or so minutes I had the monitor on the arm, can hold some weighty ass monitors. Not sure what's the current beast for weight and curvature on the market but they claim 44 lbs. It doesn't look exactly like the ergotron HX w/ HD Pivot but it sure feels like they have very similar hardware than them, visually at least. The HD Pivot though does not seem like the best to have rotated 180 so the top is now facing down. A lot of it is from gravity and not sure if you can rotate like that on the ergotron HX but, yeah, don't flip it and you'll be good. You get two small dainty screws (not actually dainty, it screws on with the 5mm allen wrench) to secure it from below to the arm to keep it in place but that's it. Read more

very sturdy. but important caution to users!

The arm is great. Holds a Odyssey g9 easily and swings freely. Easy enough to adjust but that's also where one issue with these big monitors comes into play: Be very careful adjusting screen tilt. I killed my last ultra wide by twisting on the monitor itself to tilt it. Instead use a long screwdriver or something and twist inside of the joint in the arm. Otherwise a year or two down the road it'll develop a weird off-color line about 2/3rds the way down the monitor near the center, as that's where the stress from twisting the monitor goes. Then it'll quit entirely after a month or two. Samsung only has a 2 year warranty on their 49" $1200 monitors so do what you can to not accidentally kill it just outside of the warranty!! Back to the monitor arm, the cable management is a little finicky but overall holds nicely, adjusting tension can take a bit of time but stays where you want it to once it's set. Clamp holds the desk well. And there are no plastic hinges! Some cheaper stands marketed for these big monitors have plastic joints between the monitor and arm, and they are NOT good. This has a solid metal joint that secures with 2 bolts (the part that bolts onto the monitor can be unbolted and removed for installation), and feels secure. Read more

The arm wroks as advertised but is not perfect.

I purchased this arm for my Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" in May. The arm supports the monitor just fine, I can tilt, rotate, etc. I have a shallow desk, only 24". I knew this was going to be an issue with this monitor regardless of how I mounted it. My only issue with this arm is the side-to-side tilt hinge. It will not hold this monitor at any more than a 45° angle when fully tightened when the arm is at full height. This is because the arm has two pivot points so as you raise or lower the arm the tilt hing goes from level to leaning to the right or left depending on the height, it's kind of unavoidable for stability reasons. Others have forced a metal screw in there to keep it in place but I opted to hammer in the two sides of wooden clothes pin (as sen in my photo) so as not to damage the arm for when I get a deeper desk. People have mentioned vertical sag but I have not had this problem. However, I saw those reviews before purchase and tightened the vertical hinge as much as possible before hanging the monitor on it and I believe that's why I haven't experienced vertical sag. Other than the side-to-side tilt, the arm is great, especially for the price. I absolutely would recommend if you have a beast of a monitor. Read more

Works for Samsung G9 57

This arm does indeed work for the G9 57 like reviews said. My box said "GS500" along of "S1020" but it still worked perfectly. Some points to note: * The screws to put the wall mount that the VESA mount screws into is from the base mount that comes with the monitor. You can then use the longer VESA mount screws into that instead of the thumb screws. * Putting the monitor onto the mount was a 2 person job. You need to lift the screen fairly high and tilt it since the tilt mechanism is tilted upwards which makes it super awkward to install. * You will not be able to manually move the tilt mechanism or the top part of the arm until it's attached. * Use the allen key horizontally, not vertically. If you use it vertically, it's almost impossible to tighten, especially the tilt. You need to tighten it to max to get it *almost* level. It will still be slightly droopy, but it still holds really well. The support team also replied very quickly and helped me deal with my issues almost instantly. Thank you very much! Read more
