I read a ton of reviews looking for a few that supported buying one of the less expensive of overhead garage lights. They didn’t get much support so I decided to spend a little more money to get this BFT LED light. From the packaging to the performance the light excels. I'm going to start out by saying I am very impressed with this high bay light; it is extremely bright with extremely good heat dissipation. Most 200 w LED lights such as this are nowhere near the rating but this light draws exactly 190 watts on the dot! (116 vac) I would have been happy with 170 watts! The light looks like it will handle outdoor use just fine in the weather and especially if you have any kind of roof whatsoever over the light shouldn't be any problems using this outdoors. The light is a little bit heavy but the hook is extremely sturdy and even comes with a safety tether! The hook is extremely convenient and because of such I can definitely see myself climbing a ladder and taking this light down just to use it as a really nice bright work light (make sure it is mounted secure and try not to set it on the plastic LED cover but it seems pretty durable for such) I have not tested the dimming function and honestly don't have a desire to do so because of the extra wiring and I am completely off grid with solar anyway so I don't mind the efficient bright lighting! But I imagine the dimming function works just fine presumably. 11 out of 10 Stars and I highly recommend it this for the price, quality and function! Read more

This light is like one of those heavy duty fixtures made for dental offices... in the 1980's and painted black. It's high quality aluminum construction, but with the look and finish of about 40 years ago. That's okay, I like it! And let's face it, those fixtures were built to last and still do in some creepy dental offices where the licenses aren't hanging on the walls anymore. It's bright and although the cord could be longer, it will work for my installation. The safety cable, however, will not. You have to be hanging this light within 2ft of the ceiling for that to work. So, throwing caution to the wind just as I would if I were to go into one of those creepy dental offices, I removed it. While I had that screw off, I took the rest of them out as well and removed the cover to reveal a super industrial epoxy encased electrical box that will probably be impervious to water - and any repair. I did this in order to cut off the dimming pigtail. Now I don't need this to dim, but if you do, you probably thought you would use a dimming switch on the wall, but that's not how this works. It requires some separate device to accomplish that. So, pigtail removed, panel back on and screws secured, I can hang it up without a safety cable and I have a black UFO (hey their description, not mine) illuminating my workspace! This light is very well built of heavy metal and is professionally painted black (possibly powder coated but I have no way to say for sure). The light is very, very bright and will illuminate a large area. The light has fins on the top to help dissipate the heat. The diameter is 14". The LED board is 9" in diameter. The light comes with a very sturdy mounting hook and also has a safety cable to for securing the light to the beam it is mounted on. Even if the light fell this cable would stop the light from going far. There is a set screw that secures the mounting hook to the beam and also a set screw that secures the hook to the light. The power cord is approximately 36" long and a good quality. The light was well packaged and arrived very quickly. I give this light a high recommendation. Read more

My only complaint with this light is the fact the dimmable feature is separate wiring. It clearly states that in the context but still should be noted since they advertise it in the headline. That being said under most circumstances I won’t want it dimmer as that’s the point of a bright shop light. You can easily unplug it and use your normal lighting if you don’t want the light this puts out(or of course you could buy a dimmer switch). It is well built with good heavy framing and a nice paint job. It has a heavy duty hanging hook with a screw to hold it on as well as an extra wire w/ carabiner just in case.
