My cofee is very important in the morning, and for that matter Bialetti is the best in every point, it is a strong built that is going to last for years to come, I already have one, it was given to me by a friend so it already did had some age...this one is for my daughter Read more
After moving to induction, needed a new Moka Pot. I had a similar trusty design for 20 years for my gas stove, so I got the kitty for the shape. Works well on my induction cooktop and I use it nearly every day and like the results. A few notes: I have a Thermador Liberty induction cooktop. I fill it with hot water and set the power to 6.5 (of 10) and that seems to work well. Some tutorials said to start on low, but that didn't work for me. With my old one, I tamped the grounds a bit, no tamping on this one or it struggles to push the water through. I have gotten best results on my old burr grinder with a grind just a bit finer than drip. The finest setting was too fine. Read more
And I had received a different mocha pot as a gift. It wasn’t especially well-made, and it leaked from the gasket. I bought this one after doing a little research. There’s a video on YouTube called making cappuccino/latte/flat white at home by James Hoffmann, and - using his technique - I enjoy a great cup every morning from this Bialetti. I also like that it is entirely stainless steel in manufacture. It is more expensive than the cheaper models but to me it is worth it. Read more
We previously had a Bialetti Brikka which I purchased on the advice of my Italian coworkers. Unfortunately we accidentally melted the handle off. The Kitty is an upgrade in every respect. Whereas the Brikka advertises that it makes 4 cups and only makes 2, the Kitty actually makes 4 cups, is easier to clean, and is more attractive overall. The ONLY negative, which is barely a negative, is that it makes almost no noise, so be careful not to forget it on the heat! Read more
I bought this Bialetti mocha pot because I thought it'd be better to make coffee in a stainless steel pot than in the traditional Bialetti aluminum pot. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience. No matter how tightly I torque the top down on the bottom water reservoir, it would seem that there is a pressure leak somewhere. The coffee takes a long time to brew, and there is a lot of water left in the bottom when the top begins to "Spit". It is possible that my pot is defective in some way. But I've gone back to my aluminum Bialetti, simply because it is more reliable. I am disappointed in the performance of this pot. Read more
cons - 1. leaking a bit while pouring 2. not all water from the base are coming out to the pot itself.. Read more
The base is to round, large and slippery to grip for opening. My hands are 5” from the center of my palm to the tips of my fingers. The handle broke off after a few years of use. Very difficult to clean out the coffee residue which leaves fresh coffee tasting rancid. Read more
