These are probably the best toddler training pants I’ve ever purchased and I’ve purchased a ton of them. The sizing is absolutely perfect and does not fit like other toddler training pants I’ve bought before. I’ve bought size 5 before in other brands and they fit soo tightly and will cut off circulation in my 3 year old son which is absolutely crazy. He usually wears a size 4-5t and they fit just right! They are snug enough around the waist that they stay up easily without falling down but don’t leave crazy marks on him like the others I bought do. I absolutely adore the fact that they fit like boxer shorts and actually look like real big boy undies that his older brother and dad wear. I also love the inner layer being super absorbent and it not just being one layer as the underwear and absorbent layer. As for how absorbent these actually are, they far surpass the absorbency of the other pairs I’ve bought previously. I mean my son is 3, if he does a full on pee it’s not a little bit it’s a large amount. These training pants have caught and held nearly an entire accident with a teeny tiny bit ending on the floor but the rest well contained inside the absorbent inner layer. It also very well may not have leaked out because by the time I came in and saw him he already had them off and on the floor so it could’ve easily been from after. They really do hold a TON of liquid. So my toddler has basically been living in these for the last couple days and he is comfortable and mostly dry. Since that first accident on day one the most he’s done in them is a little tinkle which he then realizes is wet and he runs to the potty so I’d say these are working as they’re supposed to. I love love love these and would recommend them to any mama who’s been struggling to potty train, the other training pants fit too tightly on their littles and don’t want their toddlers running around completely naked while they potty train. These underwear work great, and the sizing fits as expected. The garments help prevent slight leaks from ruining my son’s shorts. The waterproof lining works great. My son has had a full bladder release, and the absorbency of these helped contain the mess to his shorts, and prevented it from leaking onto my furniture or his car seat. The patterns on the fabric are vibrant and exactly as pictured. They have a cotton feel to them, so they do breathe and don’t trap moisture like sweat against the skin. They are very durable and have lasted many washes. I’m afraid that the dryer will damage the waterproof liner, so I hang these to try. I do find that I have to rinse them and wring them by hand if my son has an accident, and then let them sit on the edge of the hamper to dry until I can get around to washing them in the machine. They are so absorbent that if I don’t do this, they come out of the wash still smelling like urine. The design of these undies is a little strange, and was not expected. They’re not constructed like traditional boxer briefs. There’s a liner inside shaped like briefs that’s separate from the outside shell of the shorts, and only held in place with stitches at the waistband to hold two separate layers together. It doesn’t affect the efficacy of the garment, but it was just unexpected and something to be aware of if you’re looking for true boxer briefs. Read more
I have used a few different types of potty training pants with my kids, and these BIG ELEPHANT training pants have been a great find. The first thing I noticed when they arrived was how soft and thick the cotton felt. They are 100% cotton with a nice, substantial feel, not thin or flimsy. The material feels breathable and comfortable, which is important when little ones are wearing them all day. I like that they have a true boxer style fit. They look and feel more like real underwear, which has been helpful during potty training because it makes my child feel more like a “big kid.” The absorbent padding is just enough to catch small accidents without feeling bulky like a diaper. They are not meant to replace diapers for big messes, but for those in between stages where we are working on consistency, they have been perfect. I use them during the day at home and when we are running quick errands so we can practice getting to the bathroom on time. They also wash up well and have held their shape after multiple cycles, which is a big plus in a busy household with two kids. For us, these have been a practical and comfortable step in the potty training process. These BIG ELEPHANT 6 pack toddler potty training underwear are adorable. The designs are fun and colorful, and my kid gets excited to wear them (which is half the battle with potty training, right? 😅). They fit well, feel soft, and hold up to daily wear. The big caveat: they lose vibrancy fast and have a potential to bleed dye. After the first wash (even on cold, gentle cycle), the colors faded noticeably, and the blue pair bled all over everything else in the load that they turned any tiny white bits or light colored clothes blue. Lesson learned the hard way: wash these on their own the first time, or even always separate from other clothes. Buyer beware! Overall, my son loves the patterns, which motivates him more than plain undies. The thought of actually starting full potty training is still dreadful 😅, but these at least make the underwear part fun. Read more
