These acoustic and rubber pads have a use as vast as your imagination, whether it's for sports, cushioning, or physical therapy purposes. As I mentioned before, their uses are extensive, like a puzzle of padded panels. Let me explain how I use them. Given my work in audiovisuals, I use them for the vocal booth floor. I place microphone stands on these pads to prevent footstep sounds. The interlocking design is quite interesting—it's almost like solving a puzzle. Another way to utilize them is to reduce frequency reflections. It's a common mistake to use soft foam for this purpose. Let me explain further. When you need to eliminate reflections, for example, in a vocal booth, it's typically within the frequency range of 450Hz to 5000Hz. (It's important to note that the booth isn't designed to handle all frequencies; it depends on the desired frequency range to "attenuate.") It's also a mistake to try to completely "eliminate" a frequency. For low frequencies that produce annoying rumbles or low-frequency head noise, compressors, and gates are used. However, I don't intend to give a course on acoustics. I simply want to say that these pads are marvelous for this type of work. And yes, they are great for exercise too! Of the 5 packs we ordered, 3 were of different shades of blue which were only visible AFTER unpacking and laying down. This was unacceptable and there was no time to return them for an exchange - which would NOT guarantee a satisfactory result. ALL batches of manufactured stuff should have a modicum of QC, which in this case was lamentably lacking. ALSO, the shrinkage of the tiles differed, causing difficulties in fitting them, making me suspect that the materials used also weren't fully checked. I have a workshop in my garage with concrete floors. I am often standing at my work bench for hours per day while working on my various DIY projects and repairs. I wanted something I could put on the floor to pad the concrete and decided to give these a try before spending a ton of $ on a rubber garage mat. I'm glad I decided to try this, it's perfect. Nice cushion while standing, and it feels pretty durable for foam. The diamond plate pattern also looks good in the workshop. I was a bit worried these would separate easily and drive me nuts, but they actually link together quite solidly. Overall they're exactly what I was looking for. Read more

There is no puzzle to connecting these “Puzzle Floor Mat Tiles”: They fit together easily. Each tile comes with 2 finishing (smooth) edges that can be removed and replaced in about 3 seconds. While the pieces ‘lock’ together easily they are not attached as securely or as cleanly as some other floor tiles I’ve used. With the pieces provided you can create square and rectangular shapes with smooth edges, but there are not enough edge pieces to create a long mat that is just one mat wide, uses all the tiles, and has finished edges all around. The mats are made of EVA foam (aka “foam rubber”) which is a durable, lightweight, waterproof, closed-cell material, that has high resistance to many chemicals. The mats use EVA foam of an appropriate density to provide good cushioning, shock absorption and insulation. The dimensions given for the mats is 23.6” which is the length from an indented portion to a protruding portion. However, connecting 4 mats with edge pieces on all sides creates a square a little larger than 4 x 4 feet: 4’ 0.8” x 4’ 0.8” to be exact. The maximum thickness is 1/2”, as indicated. Read more

I really appreciated the fact that each 2x2 section includes two interlocking edges/ends. I did not know this and planned on laying these down on the walking path between rooms in the basement. I knew how they locked together and figured that at some point I would have to trim off interlock on the sides for ends. I do not know how common this is, but know for a fact that it is not universal. Very clever and much appreciated. The tiles are light in weight but seem durable and do not slide unless you are trying to do so. They soften the walk and I can tell there is a bit of sound deadening as well. Very nice. Read more

We've had padding under our workout equipment, but the rest of the floor was exposed. These pads came in handy covering that space. They're very easy to put together as long as you pay attention to the orientation of the "teeth". There are 6 squares in the box, as well as some edge pieces. They're great for yoga (with a dedicated mat on top of it), kettle bell exercises, dance moves, etc. So far they've stayed put and provided nice grip with and without socks. After recently moving to a new apartment, I decided to make the second bedroom into an office/ gym area. As the room is currently carpeted, I needed a mat of some sort to be able to put my walking pad on so I ordered these. The color of this matched the product photo which is perfect because its a neutral color (grey) and didn't detract from the other colors in the room. This was soft enough to lay on but sturdy enough for the walking mat and dumbbells. I would order this set again! Read more
