I know some top brand "commercial" grade blenders blend perfectly. I used to operate a smoothie shop and used "Vitamix" and "Waring" both priced at $400-600 and they made perfect frozen smoothies in a short time. For home use, I couldn't spend that much so I kept shopping for a reasonably good blender for a while. I bought a few popular brand products but none of them made perfect frozen smoothies (I blend 1.5 cups frozen fruits, 1 frozen acai packet, and 1cup soy milk for example). And finally! This cute looking blender did the job! It takes longer to finish blending (compared to the pro blenders) but it does make a smooth frozen smoothies. It makes noise of course, but that comes with almost all blenders. This blender blends frozen fruits and packet without leaving any bits and pieces. Don't get fooled when you see those ads with ice cubes blended in a few seconds. Ice cubes are much easier to crush and blend than frozen whole strawberries. This machine really does it. If you don't use frozen fruits to make your smoothie, then almost any blenders will work, but if you use frozen fruits, then this one does the job and most others in the same price range don't. It's a substantial machine. Well built to last. On comparing it with the Vitamix that I borrowed, it seems the Vitamix has a slightly more powerful motor. It did not cut off when a considerable quantity of food was in the jar; whereas the Biolomix did. However, that is not a terrible inconvenience. I would simply wait a few minutes and then resume blending. Another s strategy is to put less quantity of food in to begin with; then after that was blended, but still remaining in the jar, I would put the remainder of the vegetables in the jar. This way, I avoid shut-off time. I am very satisfied with this machine and would highly recommend it. In comparison with the Vitamix, it is about 1/5 the price. Read more
