Since I had a saliva gland removed, dry mouth has been a problem when sleeping. Biotene (liquid form, in the bottle) was recommended by my dentist. It worked great! But as I was traveling soon, I looked for something in a lozenge, and they have one - works just as well, if not better (and it won't spill!). I have also used the compact spray bottle, which I can refill from the big bottle. As an added bonus, it tastes great and freshens your breath! Read more

I've tried both this and the mouthwash, and I definitely think these are the more effective of the two. But they're most effective while you're still using them - once they're gone, the dry mouth comes back kind of fast (though again, not as fast as the mouthwash), especially if you need to drink something, so I guess try to hydrate as much as you can before using them. This could also be a me-problem; my dry mouth is a side-effect of one of the medications I need to take, so maybe it's better for a more naturally-occurring dry mouth. So far the only thing I've found that works for a decent length of time are Flintts Mints and I would definitely recommend skipping these and going straight for those - haven't tried all the flavors of those, but of the 3 I did try: don't go for strawberry, it worked noticeably worse than the other two even though it was supposed to be in between the strengths of the other two. Mint and lemon both worked fantastically, though. Read more
