The media could not be loaded. This bird feeder is absolutely amazing. The camera quality is excellent, offering sharp 2K video and clear 5MP photos. The solar panel keeps it powered all day, and the battery easily lasts through the night. In fact, I’ve also been using it as a security camera during nighttime, since the built-in lights and alarm system can be activated for both illumination and protection. It’s incredibly efficient, charging during the day and operating flawlessly all night. The connection with the app is smooth, allowing easy live streaming and video playback from anywhere. The notifications are quick and accurate, so I never miss when a bird arrives. The feeder itself has a large capacity, which means I don’t have to refill it constantly. This bird feeder with camera was easy to put together and the app was self explanatory also. We like the black holder strap because it allows us to temporarily place the bird feeder to make sure we like that location. It’s sturdy and doesn’t damage the tree. The camera quality is pretty good allowing us to see birds and the majority of our yard also. The motion and notification settings are helpful because I was getting morning light and I was able to adjust the settings so that I didn’t get constant notifications. It only took a couple hours for birds to find our feeder and the live camera is good quality too! This is a great set up and go camera/feeder! Read more
Good news and bad news. But mainly good news. The product works and takes some very fine images. I love the close ups of the many different kinds of birds visiting the feeder. It's easy to refill the feeder with seed. I was also very pleasantly surprised at the power management. The solar cells keep the camera battery charged close to 100%. The images are stored in the cloud, with an option to also store images on a local micro SD card. There have been some glitches. And support has been unhelpful in resolving them. When using 2K image resolution mode (as opposed to std resolution) about a third of the images stored in the cloud cut off after exactly 2 seconds, even when the birds are still active on the feeder (and when the video recording duration is specified as 10 to 20 seconds. Backing off the high resolution seemed to resolve the problem, but with some loss of image detail. There were also issues with error messages ("failed to retrieve image"; "server error," etc.) when attempting to view 2k images recorded on the micro SD card. But this is an intermittent problem. Vico support suggests a network bandwidth problem. But I think there are other issues. When I pulled the micro SD card and uploaded the images onto my laptop, the PC device driver indicated that there were "errors" on the SD card. I was able to repair the drive and upload the images. I reformatted the drive after that and the problem recurred. So my guess is that there are some glitches in the SD card driver that lead to these intermittent errors. My last critique is of the support. I relayed all of this detail and much more in the hope that they could help me resolve these problems and that they might improve the product's performance. But I think like a lot of support groups they are leaning into AI, because at the first report of a problem you get a canned reply with completely irrelevant suggestions and advice. If you report a second problem (as I did when new but possibly related problems emerged), they seem unable to correlate these separate reporting incidents. So information gets lost and their replies are off the mark. I will give them points for replying to feedback. My overall summary of support is that they are probably set up to handle very basic installation-related questions, but not the kinds of errors I was reporting. In general, despite the glitches and the lack of expert support, I like the product very much and recommend it. The solar power management has been great so far, the motion detection works well, and the images (especially in 2K mode) are beautiful. Read more
