I have Kirby that's maybe 1.5 years old. Just felt like it wasn't picking up as I felt it should. After checking for blockage. None. I read about this vacuum. Good house keeping gave it 4.8 out of 5 stars. I bought it, simple little vacuum no thrills such as lights, side brushes or motor driven . After going over carpets with Kirby. I followed with the Bissell. After half of the carpet space I had to empty the canister. Super easy to do. Suction power hands down blows Kirby away. Amazing how much this vacuum pulled from carpet. Very happy with this vacuum. Hope it last. Doesn't feel as solid as the Kirby but 100 bucks vs 1400 bucks. This is a no brainer picks up pet hair with ease and no clogging. Can't go wrong for the price. Read more

This was easy to put together with just a screwdriver. I needed something with really good carpet suction for a family house that wasn't cleaned for months. Lots of thick dust bunnies hiding behind furniture. OMG one pass along the edging did a great job, and two passes picked up what was left behind embedded in the carpet. I had to keep removing the cup as it filled quickly. Trashing what it held amazed me. Not only dust bunnies but fine dust poured out. I truly recommend this for any vacuuming job. Read more

I just recently moved into a house that has carpet upstairs, with dogs (yikes!) - so I was going to NEED a good vacuum that could clean well. Plus, the Mr. has pet allergies (haa), so I wanted to make sure this vac could clean the carpets well, and it does!! I have 3 small/medium dogs who shed a fair amount, but with beige carpet, you don't really see it.....UNTIL you vacuum!! - and wow, that canister filled up quickly with just a few passes of my hallway and bedroom area, I was amazed and so happy, and a tad grossed out that much was in the carpet when it "seemed clean". I definitely recommend this vacuum. I haven't had it very long, just a few months....but I'm sure I'll update again should it die on me sooner rather than later - haa! Read more
