What makes this unique from other similar derma-stamping/roller, micro needling tools is it’s round shape. I found it when using this on my face. The round shape helped me get into more specialized, curved areas like the under eye and below my nose. I liked that the length of the needles are adjustable so that I can use it at the shorter length for my face and the longer length when I am stamping my scalp. The pain level and softness was similar to all needling tools that I’ve tried. It’s not a labor of comfort, but more something that I feel like adds bounce and plumpness to my skin effort for money compared to salon or med-spa micro needling. I had never used a derma roller or derma stamp before, but when I saw this available to try and review, I decided to give it a shot. If you’re anything like me and assume it will come with clear, beginner-friendly instructions—don’t count on that. The directions are printed on the side of the box, and while they might be sufficient for someone already familiar with microneedling, I personally needed more guidance. Because this was my first time, I turned to Google to learn how to properly disinfect and dry the needles, how to stamp the skin, what needle length to use, how many passes are recommended, and what type of product to apply afterward. I included some of that research in my photos, but I would strongly encourage any first-time users to do their own homework as well before starting. One additional learning moment for me came during the sterilizing process. The first time, I used far too much cleaning solution and ended up with moisture continuously dripping out of the tool, which made it take a very long time to fully dry. After using it, I learned that you really only need enough alcohol to sterilize the needles themselves—using too much just creates unnecessary drying time and mess. After disinfecting and drying the device, I used the stamp on my face following a commonly recommended pattern and applied a very light serum afterward—just hyaluronic acid. My skin definitely felt like it had been stamped with tiny needles and then moisturized, which seems to be exactly what should happen. I personally used the 0.5 mm length because the 0.25 mm didn’t feel like it was penetrating enough for me, though that may simply be my pain threshold and could be perfectly fine for others. Overall, I think this is worth the money, especially for beginners who want to try microneedling at home. That said, there is definitely a learning curve, and I really wish the product came with more detailed instructions. I feel like for a skincare tool that can lead to serious skin irritation or infections, it should include more than a brief overview of how to use it on the box. There aren't any safety warnings or counterindications or any instructions or manual. There isn't any information on how to sterilize it, which is super important for a tool that is making tiny tears/wounds in your skin and essentially opening the door for bacteria to enter if you don't know what you're doing. I've never used a derma roller/stamper before so to be cautious, I tested it on my arm, inner wrist and the top of my hand. It didn't hurt much trying out different needle depths so I thought, ok, this isn't too bad. But within minutes all those areas turned red, started to itch and after ten minutes or so, developed small bumps. Yikes, my skin was irritated! Thankfully I have on hand a soothing serum and gentle moisturizer, those helped a lot to calm the itch. From what I've read, these are normal skin reactions to derma stamping and usually subside within 48-72 hours (it was fine within an hour and completely not irritated by the next morning). So just a heads up, please do your research before you use this! Your skin requires a lot of gentle care, no strong actives and to be kept from direct sun exposure multiple days after your session. I wish the product came with information regarding frequency of use. This is certainly not something you do daily but it's also not knowledge to be assumed as common. I do have to note that I have pretty sensitive skin, so this might not be everyone's experience. One large concern is that the needles retract into the head of the tool. You cannot take the head apart to clean it so I feel like lots of bacteria could hangout inside those little holes. You can douse the thing in alcohol but then you are stuck with liquid inside and it maybe not fully drying, even if alcohol does evaporate, this just seems messy and not well designed for a tool that needs to be sterile before each use. As for the tool itself, it's really easy to use and adjust the depth of needle. That is a great feature that allows you to start shallow and graduate to deeper depths, though I'm not sure you really are supposed to go beyond 0.5. I ordered this derma stamp, its not a roller like the description says, for my scalp to help promote hair growth. I like how you can change the length of the needles and the handle tells you the length. Perfect when using it for different areas of your body. Quality seems good, nothing bad yet. While its "easy" to use, I much prefer a roller. When trying to get multiple areas of my scalp, a stamp takes more time. Its not painful, you can definitely feel it but of course dont press too hard. I also feel like its a bit more difficult to clean. I now have a designated cup i put a small amount of rubbing alcohol in to sanitize it. Just not sure how long until it ruins the plastic. Overall its OK. I just much prefer a roller. Read more
