Plenty of large pockets and small ones too. Not sure if it's actual leather or not, but it seems tough enough. I don't wear it around my waist, I just throw the belt over my shoulder, and it's plenty adjustable for that. Don't be too aggressive with the zippers, and they should last a long time. I bought this fanny pack as a Christmas gift for my wife. She liked it! It's a really nice bag. The leather smells, feels and looks good. The size of the bag is relatively large, larger than my wife's old one (which was too small). The only negative I see about the bag is that there are SEVEN individual zippered compartments. That means you have to put some serious effort into remembering where you put something in the bag. One other comment is that the plastic buckle is pretty big. It's the same size as the strap, so it's not inappropriate. It's just that the strap and the buckle are relatively large.
