The Blind Barber 40 Proof Sea Salt Spray is a fantastic go-to for men looking to add texture and volume to their hair with a natural, matte finish. This water-based texturizing spray is ideal for creating those effortless, “off the beach” waves with a bit of hold to keep your style in place without feeling sticky or stiff. The scent is a major highlight—fresh and subtle, it leaves hair smelling great without overpowering. The hold is just enough to maintain shape and texture throughout the day, adding volume and grit that looks natural and tousled rather than overly styled. The spray is also lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh down finer hair types, and it works well with thicker hair for added lift and texture. For anyone seeking an easy-to-use, high-quality sea salt spray that delivers on volume, hold, and scent, the Blind Barber 40 Proof Sea Salt Spray is a perfect choice for achieving laid-back, textured styles. I want to first address the "top comments" which all are regarding the scent, which concerned me when I was browsing. I purchased this in Spring 2021 and the scent is actually quite nice and not overpowering like those reviews claim. I wanted to make sure I wasnt just desensitized to it by standing in its fart-cloud in the bathroom so I asked my fiancee to smell my head (out of nowhere and she looked pretty damn confused) and she agreed it smelled great and not at all overpowering. She had to legit put her nose all the way to my head to smell it. Maybe they changed the formula from those 2018/2019 batches that those reviews seem to all stem from? Not 100% sure, but it smells like what it says on the bottle - a light vanilla-like smell + a little bit of that regular hairspray smell, which is fair to expect in any spray product. Fortunately for me, unless you pile it on thick, your hair doesn't look like it has product in it. As you would expect, that means it doesnt hold super firmly, which is again perfect for me. I would guessthis is better for more subtle stylings on short-medium hair unless you're piling it on thick. In that case, you should just be getting a regular or stronger spray, though. I would imagine this means longer haired people probably aren't going to get too much out of this product unless you seriously trained your hair while growing it out and are ok with not having much control on your hair. Most important to me, it doesnt make your hair all hard and crusty. It's got that natural, layered, wavy-locks-texture, keeps hair soft to touch, and still gives some ability to style. It's a little bit more expensive than I think it should be since the large majority of its ingredients are water and salt, which are about as inexpensive as you can possibly get, but this is a great fit for me and what I'm looking to do. I'll likely test some other sea salt sprays (as this is my first one - typically have been recommended pomade in the past). All in all, this does everything it says and everything I was hoping it would do. With that in mind and my limited knowledge, it would be unfair for me to say it's not high-value which is why I gave it a 5/5 despite my pricing criticism. I'll have a better understanding of these types of products in the future and can update/amend as I learn and try more. Hope this helps! Happy shopping!!! Read more

As a male who is interested in beauty products and has long shoulder length hair, but short bangs (rocking a mullet) I intended to use this to give my bangs some volume and texture on days where it wanted to look funny. The scent: I have gotten complements on. It smells very good. The Feel: It will dry your hair so if you already have dry hair be careful with it. Seems to be pretty chemically strong. The style: The hold this provides is pretty strong, its not like a hair spray where it sticks it in place but its very close. I like a little more play in my hair to keep it natural so this was a down side for me. There is little to no shine provided from this which is a huge up side for me as I like my hair to look as effortless as possible so no shine is great. The value: Good cost to amount of product. Only really takes one spray maybe two per day, and I would NOT recommend using this every day for the health of your hair... For me this was an interesting addition to my hair product arsenal that I use every once in a while, but for me I wish it didnt feel so harshly chemically. Also the spray cap came slightly broken in shipping and leaks when i spray it. so the packaging is not sturdy. Read more
