I was a little worried when the package came and everything inside the plastic was airtight. Makes sense, to keep down shipping costs, I am sure. I compared what I received, to what I have been using. I was a little discouraged to see that this item was a bit off in size comparison. Also, the pre filter sponge that came with this is very different in that, the sponge is not as thick as my original. You can tell a huge difference in the PPI, the old one has less so there is less air getting into the pump. That turned out to be a good thing, as the fountain is not as noisy when the water level is dropping, as it was before. All in all, there is no reason not to purchase this item, the price is fair and you will get exactly what is advertised! Read more

I kept my fingers crossed when I ordered these that they would fit my cat’s water fountain. I don’t remember the make or model of it but the picture in the listing looked right so I gave it a try. They’re a perfect fit. They’re not completely identical to the manufacturer’s product but they’re close. They arrive compressed, so I do recommend waiting a couple of days to let the foam pre-filter fluff up a bit. I also recommend soaking both the pre-filter and the filter for an hour or two and rinsing thoroughly to ensure you get rid of any loose charcoal dust from them before inserting into the fountain. The water was pretty murky after I soaked them (see picture), but they rinsed clean after the soak. The pre-filter is made of a fine, soft foam, while the manufacturer’s pre-filter is made from a denser, coarser foam. I’m not really sure which is better for that stage of the filtration process, but it doesn’t seem to hamper the water flow in any way. The main filter is virtually indistinguishable from the original. These run about half the price of the ones I’ve been ordering so as long as my cat continues to use her fountain, I’ll probably continue to use the product. Read more
