I decided to get this 3 in 1 workout bar to help me develop better core and upper body strength. I enjoy running a lot, so my legs are in good shape and I have very good endurance. What I am missing is core and upper body strength. Putting together and setting up the bar was quick and easy. All the pieces fit together as they are supposed to. When I first hung it on the doorway, I was certain I would pull the frame off from around the door. However, the workout bar spreads the tension and weight and makes it very stable. I also like that the workout bar can be used for more than just pull-ups. I can flip it over and use it for doing sit ups and push ups or even planks when I’m really feeling good. Read more
Easy way to get some arm work in while at home. Fits the door perfectly. It is rated to 300lbs so it is very stable when I use it. Dropped it down a star as the piece that goes across the top (which connects & holds your weight on the door trim) is plastic. When assembling you use round headed carriage bolts. The square hole for the bolt head is molded in the plastic and strips out extremely easily. I ended up have to buy a hex-bolt as a replacement. So the design is good with the exception of those two bolts. Padded grips right where you need them. Looking for a pull up bar? This one is great, but be careful during assembly. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Since I am a backpacker/ hiker who is trying to baby hip and lower back damage, I have decided it is time to work on core and Upper Body strength. Enter this Body Sport 3-in-1 Pull-Up Bar, which helps with both. It requires no screwing into your door frame, as you can see in my video, and is an inexpensive way to encourage quick daily work toward basic Pull-Up goals. When I first tried it, I was worried it or my door frame trim, would fail. Only one way to find out. I held on and kind of squatted. More of my weight went onto the bar. A long high pitched “eeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” came out of my mouth as I picked up my feet with folded my knees so that I was off the ground. The bar held. The door frame held. I am now more confident in the magical physics and well-placed padding that keeps this up without damaging my door frame. I cannot yet do a pull up. I will eventually. Having the bar there makes it super easy to casually use it. Every morning, I go to the bar and do at least one “support my weight” dangle. My barely able to hold my body for a few seconds has already improved. Pretty sure I earned a ribbon for holding on for 10 seconds. I can now pull myself up like 1 mm. Yup. Good thing I’m okay with baby steps. It's also nice to play with the on-floor action. I’ve played with this a few times for push-ups and reverse push-ups. It has very much cemented my decision to enhance core and upper body. I thought assembly would be easy and quick. An allen wrench tipped with a phillips head and a small wrench are included. Using only the tools provided, all was good until the last connection of the top plastic horizontal bar. It requires a bolt with a built-in square nut under its head to be locked in place by a plastic recessed square hole on the top bar, so you can twist a locking washer and nut on the threaded end. That plastic locking hole failed before I could get the nut barely on the thread of the other end. Basically, I had a spinning bolt with a recessed head. My vice grip tricks failed to help, and I didn’t want to crush the hollow plastic cross bar. Since I can’t get it all the way on or off without excessive efforts, I have decided to use it with caution as is. Even if the nut pops off, the angle and physics are such that the bolt won't slide out of either connected piece. I suggest retightening all bolts and screws after using several times like I did. The bar's very slight flex is quite reasonable and the bar easily supports my 175lbs. If you’re not going to just store it on the door frame, its awkward shape makes it cumbersome to store. Disassembling and reassembling isn’t really feasible especially considering the weakness of the plastic square holes stripping. Read more

I have another one of these, but it's in my storage shed right now, so I can't do a side-by-side comparison of them, but this one definitely feels a lot cheaper quality than the other one. This is especially true with the bar that goes across that rests on the top of the door frame. This one has a hollow plastic bar, and it just feels really flimsy. I'm pretty sure the other one that I have is all metal. Despite the plastic bar, I assembled this thing but haven't been able to test it out yet because apparently every interior door in my new apartment is awkwardly shaped enough that it doesn't fit this pull-up bar at all, so that's frustrating. (It may be able to fit in the bathroom doorway, but I'd have to move a large picture frame, and I'm not sure it's worth it...) I'm taking it over to my parents' house tomorrow, so I'll try it out over there and see if it's any good. But the plastic bar really doesn't feel very safe or durable, so I might let my kid use this, since he's small, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for adult use... Read more

I was able to assemble this bar without using any tools, but this bar loses one star because the included hardware was rusty. I suppose this is what happens from crossing the ocean on a barge? Not a big deal. I cleaned them off and the bar was assembled in a matter of minutes. There are 3 areas on each side of the bar that are padded for hand comfort for isolating different muscle groups. It can also be placed on the floor to use for different exercises other than pull-ups. The instructions lay out all of the possible exercises. A simple and inexpensive way to build muscle at home!
