I'm unable to eat off my lap in a lounge chair or couch so I needed a small table in a pretty small area. I had the chairs and had been eating off the counter but the chairs are a bit to low for that to be comfortable so most times I'd stand. I saw this and the wood / metal design fit wit my other furniture and it's the perfect addition to my small apartment. Putting it together was simple and only needed a crescent wrench for the nuts. Adjusting the height is also simple and easily raised to my level so now I can eat more comfortably. It's very durable being a metal base with good welding and the top sits sturdy once the nuts are tight and the lock ring tight. Just what it claims to be. Industrial looking. Solid. Easy to assemble. At first I thought it was wobbly. But I looked at the photos and figured out that you can tighten the mechanism by twisting the lower ring down. Instructions could be clearer. Read more

I have rarely been this pleased with a piece of furniture. I bought it for my apartment in lieu of a dining table due to the small space. Very solid and easy to adjust the height. I have included a photo with an Amazon box on top to demonstrate the color of the wood. The top is darker than the sides, which is lovely.
