So I have a cat who treats the litter box like a personal crime scene. We’re talking smells that make you question your life choices. Enter this cat litter, aka the unsung hero of my household. First of all: odor control? Immaculate. Whatever dark magic is happening in this bag, it works. I no longer walk into my apartment bracing myself emotionally. (Shoutout to the stank eating probiotics) Clumping is solid and easy to scoop and use. There’s no crumbly betrayal, no mystery sludge stuck to the box. It’s like the litter WANTS to help me. Dust level is low enough that my cat doesn’t look like he just came home from a coal mine, which I appreciate for both our lungs. Bonus: it tracks less than other litters I’ve tried, meaning fewer rogue granules attacking my feet at 2am. Would I recommend this litter? Yes. Would my cat thank it? No, he has no gratitude. Is this litter more expensive than others? Yes. Will I keep buying it anyway? Absolutely. Does size matter? Oh yeah. This big bag will last you months if you are a 1 cat household. If you have a cat with questionable morals and a strong digestive system, this litter has your back. Read more

After using Dr Elseys for the past 2 years I can say this product has a better quality (Im sorry Dr) For starters, Boxie is not dusty at all, I remember with the other brand my LR4 would have a thick layer of dust I could clean with my finger and my poor cats would be covered in dust that they would lick afterwards, I feel that also can affect their respiratory pathways. This boxie brand helped with that, it has dust as well but nothing compared with the other one, I do not notice a strong smell either (only when I open the drawer, when I do it does STINKS OH MY) but that is expected I guess? its poop anyway. My biggest pro for this litter is that it CLUMPS IN A SECOND! LITERALLY! I used to have the LR4 programmed to cycle every 25 minutes! Since it used to take a lot for the pee to clump, but with this one? I cycled 5 seconds after my cats used the litter and to my surprise the clump is 100% done and stays hard as the cycle moves it around, I loved that so I changed the cycle for every 5 minutes instead of every 25. It does help as well keeping the room fresher as the poop/pee doesn't sit around a lot before cycling. The only con I would find for this is the price, I think it's a little too high and would be good having a more affordable tag. For the moment I would recommend and probably keep using it for the above mentioned reasons. Read more

1 month update: Not a trace of litter stuck to my cat's paws! Success! Noticeably less tracking onto the floor, zero dusty footprints, minimal odor... This is my new go-to litter. It's a little pricier but the fact that there's no perfume and it clumps so much quicker makes it totally worth it. I'm noticing that it lasts longer, too. Less $$$ spent on litter robot bags, less cleaning, less stress. Original Review I've been using FreshStep with Febreeze ever since my cat was a kitten and it's been pretty good. Great odor control with a catch. It takes a long while to clump (about 15+ min) and if my cat scratches it to bury, it gets stuck to her paws and she ends up eating it to clean it off. It's super sticky when wet and tracks everywhere. Since I got the Litter Robot 4, the litter always got stuck to the bottom and it made a huge mess. I had to clean it every week by hosing it off outside. The Boxie top clumping litter is a game changer. As soon as my cat pees on this, it's clumped up and the pee rarely has a chance to get to the bottom of the litter robot where it gets stuck to the rubber. So far, the odor control has been pretty decent considering it's fragrance free. I've also noticed a lot less of the litter tracking everywhere. One thing I'm not sure I like is that my cat's feet no longer smell like febreeze. Usually, when she jumps on my face at 4am, if I smell febreeze, I know she's just been in the litter. GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I'm using boxie, there's no smell so now I don't know if I should throw her off the bed or let her snuggle under my blanket with me.... lol In any case, I know she's not eating litter anymore and I feel better using a non-scented litter. It's got a lot less dust when pouring, too! Read more
