Worked right off on my MacBook; had to download a DVD program to play DVDs with my Windows 11 laptop and it recognized and played right away. Was able to use Windows Media Player to both play and burn a CD. With the MacBook, you have to eject the drive on the MacBook itself to eject the CD or DVD from the external drive. Before I discovered that, I thought my DVD was going to be stuck in the drive because it wouldn't open using the button. With Windows you can eject it by pushing the button on the drive itself. So far it works good and like that I have a CD/DVD drive once again for my laptops. Read more

Works well. The latching mechanism could be better but for the price it is fine. It is quite noisy when ripping CDs in comparison to ones I've had in the past but it is easy enough to use. The additional features make it handy. Read more
Disk drive arrived with a short non attached USB A to C cable. Permanently attached is a USB 3A / C cable. This connects to the computing device (PC, Mac, laptop). The transfer / power cable is extremely short. Worked OK for the laptop, but would not work in my PC use. My PC (Minis Forum) is mounted behind my monitor making termination very difficult. I purchased a AINOPE USB C Extension Cable 6.6FT, 20Gbps/240W USB3.2 Type C Extender Cord to resolve this issue. Works like a charm. I have a clear desk, with the DVD drive now sitting on the monitor shelve where I can connect to my PC or my laptop without problem. I had 10 old DVD's of images that were being stored as backup media, but had no way to retrieve the data till now. I was able to transfer the images to another media, thanks to the drive and the cable. Reading a DVD with 2.6 GB of data, I was able to complete the transfer of 35753 files to my laptop with a Crucial BX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD in 61 minutes. The additional ports for the USB hub show up in explorer but I have not tested the capabilities of the hub. All in all I am well pleased with the results from the DVD drive, extension cable and the SSD. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Works well enough. Sometimes it won’t turn on but I’m 99% sure that’s because my usb ports are loose and not due to this, but it’s worth mentioning just in case. However what it does do is VIBRATE. It doesn’t all the time, but every so often it’ll randomly decide to start violently vibrating and shaking. It’s super loud and putting something up to 5lbs on it stops the shaking, but I’m really not sure what’s actually doing it. Read more
