Very nice bushcraft knife for people on a budget.

This is a really nice full tang knife at a very reasonable price. I paid $40 dollars after taxes. The leather sheath alone is worth that. I've had other knives three times this price have leather sheaths that aren't this nice. I also like the fact that it's made in the Ukraine, and not made in China. My only small gripe with it is that the handle isn't quite as wide as I would prefer. But it's totally usable still. I just have to grip it a little harder to get enough purchase. The back of the blade has an extremely sharp ninety degree spine, that's excellent for striking a fero rod. All the metal on the handle is sanded down and smooth to the touch. It also came sharp enough to shave with. So all in all I am very happy with this purchase. And would recommend it to anyone looking for a good bushcraft knife. Especially if you are on a budget. 👍 Read more

Great value

This is my second knife from this company. The quality of this knife is surprisingly high again. Ergonomics and durability is what I've paid three times as much for on other knives. The blade is perfectly straight to the human eye, very sharp, and is cut at a perfect angle. The quality & fit of the sheath has a drain hole and buyers will also be impressed as it looks like top grain leather and the stitching is beautiful. The striker and knife fit snugly and this design will float on the belt, and help to prevent broken ribs, in situations like the wearer is leaning on a tree and slipping on dry grass. To top it all off, there are holes for Ranger Assist (Dummy) Cords. Great price and no extra charge for shipping. I plan to buy more and keep as gifts for grandchildren. Gotta go put mink oil on the sheath. Read more

Finish Strong!

Good Scandi grind knife at a great price.

I was going to purchase a Beavercraft knife, also made in Ukraine, but after watching a review, I decided to go with the BPS. This is my first knife with a scandi grind. The walnut grip has a nice size and shape to it. The blade seems well made and of good quality, but did need just a bit of finishing along the edge. With a slight honing, it now has a nice edge. The sheath is particularly nice, with thick, beautiful leather. I'm pleased with the purchase, especially for $41. Read more

Great Buschcraft knife for the money.

I have a few Scandi Grind knives and use them for carving, buschcraft, and camping. I like the ergonomics of this knife and the balance. I believe that BPS is one of the best values out there. The combination of steel,Sheath, and balance is great. I have another BPS knife (HKI SSH) and that is nice as well. I took some photos of the Adventurer, the HKI and a Mora Companion Heavy Duty for comparison. the spine on the BPS knives are flat and sharp for use with a fire steel. One thing I did not like is the sheath loop is connected by a rivet so you are not able to transfer the knife quickly from your belt to lets say a pack or use it as aneck knife. This was an easy fix by replacing the rivet with a snap. I did this to both of my BPS knives. I find it way more useful than having to remove my belt. (just my preference). As the photos show I use my knives and the Adventurer is a good knife. I have used it to baton wood and it holds up well with with normal sized pieces (like 3" round). It also cuts well and makes good shavings. It is close to the Mora but I think the Mora is a bit better. The knife is easy to sharpen and takes a good edge. I always touch up a new blade as I find factory edges are sometimes lacking. The BPS did come razor sharp and it was well ground. Overall I am very pleased with this knife. The large size helps with certain tasks and the balance is great. I would recommend this knife without hesitation. Best value for the money if you want a more traditional looking knife. Happy camping. Read more

BPS Adventurer carbon steel

Im absolutely satisfied! Scales line up perfectly, no burrs or overlapping. No needed filing or sanding. Arrived razor sharp & appears flawless. The super thick leather sheath really sealed the deal. I got it with 10% off. Im going to go beat the crap.....I mean "field test" this knife & i will update. So far im absolutely pleased with this bushcraft style knife. I was stand-off'ish at first because of the negative reviews & am glad I took the chance. I will keep it oiled with olive or avocado oil just in case I use it for food prep but first....LOTS of batoning shaving feather sticks & some chopping. I'll update afterwards. Update: did a bunch of batoning on average campfire logs. Went well. No deflection of the blade. Edge didn't roll. No chipping. Made feather sticks afterwards with ease. Even used it as a chopper & chopped down a 2" sapling. Spine works great for the ferro rod & i am 💯 satisfied. Olive oiled it up afterwards & this is my new bushcraft knife. The adventurer. Extremely well built & STILL shaving sharp after some abuse. Thank you BPS !! Read more

Lovely!

There's a lot I appreciate with this lil knife. To start things off, it's decently sharp out of the box. Can't shave hair with it, but it does slice through paper with ease. I also like the flint rod. I've used better flint but despite its size, the flint produces a fair amount of sparks. i like that the handle is made from walnut. i applied some boiled linseed oil to it to give it a better finish. The sheath is nothing short of amazing. The leather's pretty thick, not too soft or dry. I see lots of people in the reviews complain about rust. Carbon steel will do that if you keep the knife stored inside the sheath, since leather absorbs moisture. To work around this, I cut up a milk jug and made a little insert that slides into the sheath. Now the blade isn't making contact with the leather, thus protecting it from rust 👍If you want to protect the knife further, apply oil to the blade sometimes. Read more

Good knife

Great bushcraft knife, I am impressed that the knife is as good as it is at this price point. The scabbard is leather, but I can always make my own kodex if needed. Anyway the knife showed up, oiled, sharp, the blade is pretty flawless, the handle is a little rough, but that makes it easy to hold on to. Anyway very impressed Read more
