My 4 year old would cry every time I went to take her temperature and I would only do it the "old fashion way" because I am an RN and we are taught that gives you the most accurate reading. Then after research and actually my cousin who has a daughter with HLHS who has to measure and record her temp all the time told me they use this one I ordered it and I even compared readings and it is very accurate and so much easier. These ear thermometer filters fit our Braun ThermoScan IRT6520 and enable it to function properly. Without a filter, it won't function because the infrared sensor is affected. Though it is NOT recommended, we put our initial in Sharpie on the filter so it can be reused a time or two, though we probably are risking accuracy doing this. Read more
