Unfortunately this Breville was purchased as “Like new, no scratches on scream with slightly damaged packaging”. Generally this has been a great way to save on some items but NOT for this Microwave! It had been double boxed and placed upside down in the second box resulting in a deep Dent on the upper right back corner. We decided it was too risky to keep an appliance that appeared to have been crushed which could have damaged the electronics and returned it for a full refund. However, this little Breville had all the features we were looking for so we purchased it from our Local Best Buy Store to avoid any mishaps! WE LOVE IT! It is so QUIET & easy to use with a gentle pull open & soft close door ! NO more loud clanging sound when you open or shut the door handle, just a gentle pull and as you push the door to close it literally closes itself, with a soft sound. We also turned off the end cycle and the child lock to completely take advantage of all of its gentle handling and Sound free features. It’s so quiet and easy to use it you know your food is ready when you hear a quiet click and read, “END”. The push button panel and dial are also a huge asset because you can add and take away seconds when cooking to make adjustments, especially for arthritic hands. Last but not least it is the perfect size for small kitchens, beautiful & does a fabulous job cooking🙏 Read more

This seems to be a high quality small microwave that fits into a kitchen. It is attractive, slight retro, with clear displays and easy to work. The soft door close is a nice feature. It is easy to work, with the dial to set time. It works efficiently and quietly for a microwave oven. Read more

You can barely hear it when it's working. The soft close is quiet and requires just a gentle tap to close. It's a bit small but big enough for a single person. It has a child lock feature but it's easy to deactivate it. The temperature control button is easy to figure out and use. My only complaint is that the interior is dark gray, making it harder to see food, despite the insight light bulb. I solved this problem by placing an off-white silicone liner on the carousel. It reflects the light well, making it easy to see the food. Highly recommend! Read more

The size, ease of use, power, and look are all great. My chef compliant as I'm used to other microwaves is there's a locking feature that automatically locks and you have to push a button before you can open the door after use. Read more

Bought in March 2023, and I loved this silence-able microwave until this summer (2025) when it stopped staying On, despite being plugged in. The screen displays an empty rectangle and the keypad and dial fully stops functioning. I have to unplug and plug back in, creating loud beeping noise. I tried other sockets, and it’s definitely the microwave. I have several other Breville appliances, so I never expected the lifespan to be so short. Just past the standard 1 year, plus 1 year extended warranty via Prime Visa. Breville support said they don’t sell the parts, but could offer a very small discount on a new one. I’ve lost trust in this particular appliance. Read more

The best microwave I’ve ever owned, by leaps and bounds. It is so quiet and well-made, it feels like a luxury automobile. Just closing the door feels good because it closes so quietly and gently, and the microwave is super-quiet once it starts running, too. You can turn off the beeps for an even more quiet experience. It cooks food fast and evenly, and it’s very nice-looking too. This is the microwave I’ve always wanted. Thank you, Breville. Read more

I’ve not been paid for this ad. I’ve had this but a few days, so I can’t make any comments about durability or the like. But, it is a very nice looking nuke that works as advertised and is a pleasure to use. In fact, it looks as good in real life as it does on screen. Kinda what I expect from Breville, though I’ve never owned one of their products. The stand out features to me are: 1. Quiet close door. This works great. It suggests superior engineering, and is much appreciated in a small home with four people rattling around. 2. The time cook knob. This is obviously intuitive and a slight time saver over button pushing. And there’s also something vaguely retro about a knob that appeals to me. 3. The long cylindrical handle that works for small hands, like children, and big ones. Also suggests some brains at work in the Breville lab. Finally, there’s the fact that it’s a Breville. Something about the name conveys an elevated experience, or maybe I’m just a sucker for a nice oven. One annoyance that it shares with most new nukes: The child lock button. It activates with every use and then one can’t open the door without pushing it. Is that small list of hard to quantify features worth the extra $150 over comparable small nukes? I have no idea. But for me it is. Read more

May 2025. Removed our over the range microwave; replaced it with the countertop Breville BMO650SIL. So far, well pleased. Really like the slow close door and the mute function AND the handle AND easy-to-use time dial. Use daily, mostly for reheating food and beverages. I need to reference the manual to reset the system (i.e., time, mute functions) when we lose power. Read more
