Breville Fast Slow Go Pressure Cooker BPR680BSS Brushed Stainless Steel

This unit truly supports it all. Pre-set selections for many different dishes/foods which can also be manually changed if desired. And I am absolutely amazed that it has a lot of variable pressure cooker levels between 1.5 and 12 psi - absolutely mind blowing! I still remember my first pressure cooker from like 40 years ago that had a simple weight on top and had to be placed on stovetop. At the time I thought this was really incredible, not even thinking about how much technology could change on a device like this. This device is truly high tech and appears to work flawlessly. The only thing I found that was somewhat off is that it preset beans to 20 mins at 12 psi. At the end of that time some of the beans were almost crunchy so I had to do another 15 mins at 12 psi. I don't really consider this much of a problem to be honest - I think it is just a matter of getting used to modifying the settings and cook time as needed. I bought this to replace my slow cooker. I wanted a stainless steel insert. I have other Breville appliances and have been satisfied with the quality so I purchased this. It happened to be not only a slow cooker but a pressure cooker which I wasn’t interested in. However, since I’ve had it I have used the pressure cooking function many times and love it. Meals are quick. Grass fed beef cuts which tend to be a bit tougher come out very tender. I do prefer an oval vs round pot. Even still it has good capacity. That’s my only complaint. I never used a pressure cooker before. Bought this because of the stainless steel inside, didn’t want chemical laced non stick. I pressure cooked on high for 1.5 hours some sirloin tips and they are melt in your mouth tender. Kind of amazing. Like, why didn’t I do this sooner? Read more
