Harry Homeowner apparently doesn't realize any and all carriage light screws MUST BE TRIMMED to your install. This is expected and typical. How is the maker of the lights supposed to know install situation? Mount the plate in the electrical box, place the light on the screws, note the location of where the screws exit the mounting plate, cut the screws to the appropriate length and mount. No big deal. If anyone is having any problems with the length of the screws they probably should NOT BE doing the install/replacement themselves. Seek professional help. Read more
