- Read all instructions before use. Use about 2 to 4 XPort Bio Cubes for every 10 U.S. gallons ( 38 L ) of system capacity, more for heavy bio loads. Rinse material well with aquarium water or purified tap water to remove any dust. For superior results, seed the material using only the specific bacteria product that you are using in the aquarium. If using MicroBacter Start XLM, use one capful to seed (add balance of bacteria directly to the aquarium). If using FlorinBacter7, MicroBacter7 or MicroBacter Clean add full recommended dose. Place XPort Bio Cubes in a plastic container, filling it with aquarium water, and then adding the bacterial product, based on the size of your aquarium, to that container. Allow to stand overnight and then add the seeded XPort Bio Cubes to your system. Discard the soak water. It is recommended that you use sponge, fine filter floss or other mechanical filtration ahead of XPort Bio Cubes to prevent clogging with organic material. For maximum results, also provide a good carbon source for growing bacteria, such as Brightwell Katalyst bio pellets or liquid Reef BioFuel or FlorinAxis as appropriate for your aquarium, as directed on their label. For maximum nitrification, place in an area of good flow with good oxygenation.

I love the product.....but
I have been using Brightwell products for almost two years now, and I have advanced to buy larger size bottles of bacteria, etc. The Bio CUBES WHEN SENT by mail are not cube, squared or whatnot. Round, like a ball, powdery and beat to heck. I hope they find a way to ship these better. Such a waste when crumbled and unusable. Rather not post the picture. That would be aweful. Read more
Removes nitrate as advertised
Has worked miracles on my nitrate. I run the cubes in a media bag in chamber 3 of a Biocube 32. Cheato refugium and no skimmer. It took 2 months, but seemingly overnight my nitrates went from 25+ to less than 5. No other significant changes to the routine. It remains to be seen how the cubes hold up structurally. So far they are doing the export work as advertised. Read more

No cotton or something placed inside the container so the ceramic had rattled around into mostly dust. This is an oversight by the manufacturer leading to a poor quality product that I wouldn't recommend at the price point. 14 dollars and no thought into how to ship the product to preserve to quality that would have cost a fraction of a cent. Wouldn't trust this company for any other product in my saltwater tank. Read more
