I have tried out various brands of air purifiers this past year and this Broan-NuTone purifier is definitely best of the bunch. A few things that I really like about this air purifier, besides the fact that it really works, is that you can use an app on your phone to control it if you would like to. The app is easy to set up and navigate. I have set up this purifier in my bedroom in our 1960s house. Now something weird about this room is that even though my kitchen stove has a fan vent to divert kitchen smells outside, for some reason the smells also migrate to my bedroom down the hallway. This drives me bananas, and so that's why besides keeping the air fresher in my bedroom in general, I was really hoping this purifier would get rid of the kitchen smell and it really has. I leave the purifier most all the time, and it's self adjusts to the air quality and seems to power up a bit when needed. But it is still very quiet overall and easy to sleep when it's on. Overall it's small and mighty and definitely does the job that it's meant to do. It's easy to use and while an investment, I feel like it's better to spend money on something that's going to work for sure than to mess around with off brands and gamble with the results (in my experience!) Seriously. What? I don't even know what half of these particles are...but I'm glad I'm not breathing them in anymore. This purifier is high end. Amazing quality. And so detailed that I'm kind of freaked out about all the nasties I've been inhaling all these years. The unit itself is sleek, clean and modern. Will look sharp in any decor. Getting it up and running was a breeze. The app connected instantly with no issues. Alexa found my NuTone automatically and is a great added feature if I need to speed up the fan...etc. This purifier has so many options and gives you so much information that it's almost crazy. You can see what particles are causing it to automatically rev up and slow down the air flow. You can adjust lights, timer...etc. But honestly, I just turned it on and let it do its thing. It automatically adjusts itself for odors and particles every time you cook or spray or light a candle. It's super sensitive which I love. I even learned what TVOC levels are and that they spike at night when you're in bed exhaling carbon dioxide. The More You Know, right? I can't think of one negative for this purifier. So much available information...and it works! Being able to see all the details in the app is both interesting and creepy when you see how much stuff is in the air. High recommend this one! Read more

Broan's Air Purifier comes almost ready to go. All you have to do is turn it over twist off the bottom, remove the plastic cover over the filter, take out the power cord and plug it into the back of the purifier, and put the bottom back on. No tools are needed and it took me about 5 minutes. The Broan is made almost completely of plastic. It's nicely assembled, and while it's quite lightweight and compact, it manages to still feel robust and sturdy. With that said, for the price I expected higher quality plastics. It's very easy to use. The touch sensitive top buttons allow switching the fan mode from automatic to manual, enabling sleep mode, turning off the LED lights, changing the air quality display mode, and more. The automatic fan setting mode works quite well. There is a companion app, but it really isn't necessary unless you want to operate the Broan remotely - although it is nice to be able to turn off the lighting remotely if I am in bed and forgot to. The Broan changes fan speeds very quickly when air quality worses - from cooking or making the beds, for instance. We have the Broan in our 14' x 10' bedroom that has hardwood floors. It keeps the air in the bedroom smelling fresh and odor free. We are not in a heavy pollen season right now, so I can't comment on that right now. It's very quiet when running. On speeds 1 and 2 it's near silent. On speed 3 it becomes a bit more noticeable, but not distracting. Speeds 4 and 5 are much more noticeable and you might need to raise the TV volume or speak louder when conversing. All in all... a fine air purifier. Read more

We have been using a different air purifier for the past 3 years, but I’m ready to use this new one exclusively. It is amazing!! First of all, it is super quiet. At its lowest level you can barely hear it, and at a higher level it is not at all intrusive with sound, which is great! Most of all, I love the features of this purifier. I have it set on auto, which allows it to change the intake of air when it notices issues with air quality. You can note the number of particles found in the air on the top display, which has been comforting in a way. Noting an extremely low particle issue in the room makes me feel a lot calmer, and when the air quality is noted to be less healthy, I feel confident that this will remove the impurities automatically - you can actually watch the numbers go down. Smells also seem to be removed quite easily with this purifier. When I do my nails, the particle number goes up and the auto feature increases the air intake. After a little while, the smell of polish seemed to be completely gone. So far, I have loved this purifier! Read more

- Made in China I haven't messed with the app at all. I have no need of it. I can't speak to it at all. The purifier itself is great. Really good intake. Outflow is from the top. All needed controls are also on the top. That carry strap almost makes me want to 5 star it just for that. I don't know how long the filter will last but it's pretty big. As far as effectiveness, it's clearing my husband's office (he smokes) really well. I do leave it on all the time. Filter access is pretty easy though I could use a little grip dents in the handle. It's on the bottom. It's doing a very good job, though, and that's my most important criteria so it's a 5 star for me. Read more
