This unit was MUCH quieter than my older Broan from 1999. A HUGE plus was the box portion of the fan assembly was exactly the same as the unit already installed in my home 26 years ago. If you have a similar unit this means you can just insert the new fan portion of the fan right into the old box, plug it up and you're in business. Install took maybe 2-3 minutes. The new grill design looks more modern and appealing too. Great price and performance! Read more

I bought this to replace an in-op exhaust fan in our bathroom. It is the same one we purchased some years ago. It is very inexpensive ($16 when I purchased) and can clear 50 cubic feet per minute. I give it a 3 on noise level as it is a bit noisy. However it’s a noise of air being drawn in rather than noise from the motor or assembly. The motor is rather quiet and there are no rattles from the assembly, housing, fan, or cover. Again, you can definitely hear it drawing the air out. Installation I give a 4. It’s not difficult but it’s not just attaching it to a beam and plugging it into power. It does require the motor to be removed (which is done simply by lifting and pressing slightly against the housing) and then its electric panel to be removed (again also held on with tension) to be able to attach the power and more easily attach it to a beam. Then once secured and power hooked up you must replace the panel cover and the motor assembly to finish the installation. It can be attached with nails or screws. If this is going int a new install where Sheetrock has not yet been installed your installation will be slightly easier as you will not be confined to the opening in the Sheetrock. This unit can be mounted in ceiling or wall systems. ** depending on how your current fan is installed you may have an easier or more difficult time installing. - - - I didn’t give it a 5 for installation due to needing to remove/disassemble two separate sections to install the electrical prior to attaching and putting it all back together ** Read more

Fantastic for the price & quality. A true upgrade to the ventilation, actually keeps bathroom mirrors defog'd and counters dry. The sound is perfect, just enough to feel like you get some privacy but soothing not jarring. Pretty fast & easy setup, except the cover was a bit annoying and 1 of the tabs already came broke off. Very happy with this purchase with this very quite fan. Direct replace of my original over 25 year Broan 688 unit. I only replaced the fan unit and grill while keep the old housing to save some effort, so no wiring and cutting. Took just a few minutes to install it. I like the new grill style better. Overall, I think this could be the best upgrade I have for my bath room fan because this is the genuine component not the off label for Broan-Nutone exhaust fan. Read more

Purchased a few of these for our house build. They do work well as a ventilation fan. I only give 3 stars as they are very loud.. Read more
