​I bought the BUFFR Silicone Ring Protector with high hopes of being able to show off my beautiful engagement ring while working out. Unfortunately, this product failed on two major counts, and I won't be using it. ​Painful Pressure: When gripping weights or performing exercises that put pressure on my hand, the silicone guard didn't distribute the pressure as intended. Instead, it seemed to push the ring painfully into my finger/hand, making the workout uncomfortable and distracting. ​Protection Claims Debunked: I took my ring and the BUFFR to my jeweler to get their professional opinion. They informed me that while the silicone might protect the metal from scratches, the consistent, uneven pressure from the BUFFR could still cause the band to warp into an oval shape over time. This completely defeats the purpose of buying it to protect my ring from damage during exercise. ​ ​If you're looking for a way to safely wear your engagement ring while lifting or doing high-impact exercises, this is not the solution. It caused me pain and, according to a professional, still poses a risk to the structural integrity of the ring. My hope of "showing off" my actual ring while exercising won't be happening, and I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this product.
