No connection to this company. An espresso drinkers who appreciate a good product. This is a very good Southern Italian style ESE espresso offering excellent value for the price. We have tried all of Bourbon's blends. THE BLEND Rosso is a darker roast using all/mostly Robusta beans, delivering a higher caffeine content and a more intense flavor. This is an ideal blend for milk based cappuccinos or lattes. I like it as a "straight up" espresso in the morning and early afternoon. It works well as the basis for an ice coffee - try a shot over ice with a splash of milk. I would not recommend it for after dinner - go for a less caffeinated and smoother Arabica blend. We use different blends for different times of day and occasions. Blend tastes genuinely Southern Italian - bold, uncomplex, darker roasted - but identifiably Italian espresso. Compare to the espresso from Starbucks, et al which taste like charcoal. Terrific for what it is. THE QUALITY OF THE ESE POD All of Bourbon's pods have always been fresh and well packed, offering, for an ESE, an even "pull" (the so-called mousetail) with good crema. The box comes with an expiration date and the company will let you know when the beans were roasted, ground, and packed. A few years back, we switched from grinder to ESE to save time and mess. We've never looked back. They're so quick and simple. However, we have had problems with some ESE pods packed too loosely or misshapen or just a little stale. Bourbon ESE pods have always delivered. THE COMPANY: Shipping is fast and easy. Read more

I am new to the world of espresso. I have been roasting my own coffee beans for years for brewing in my pour-over machine and was very particular about the roast and flavor. I never cared for espresso the first and only time I tried it because it tasted burnt to me. Then, I acquired a cappuccino machine about a month ago. It could use the ESE pods so I searched Amazon for them. I chose a small pack of Borbone Red and a small pack of another brand, mainly because both were a medium roast. I compared the two in my new machine and discovered 2 things.. I still don't care for espresso, but I love cappuccino and latte. Both brands were very good. The other brand was a bit smoother but substantially more expensive. The Borbone is a great everyday coffee and it's affordable. There is no bitterness in this coffee. When I serve it to friends, they always comment on how good it is. Let's just say I liked it well enough to return and buy a big box of 150 pods when I ran out of my initial purchase. Read more

When I received my first DeLonghi espresso machine (from Amazon) several years ago, (a gift from my son) I began using Borboné Miscela Blu to make my espresso. No more grinding, measuring and tamping ground coffee beans!! For quite awhile I was unable to make expresso due to a health problem. Just recently purchased a new DeLonghi espresso machine (from Amazon, of course) and ordered a new box of Borboné, Miscela Blu150-count ESE pods (also from Amazon). ESE stands for Easy Serving Espresso. These little pods are the best!! After brewing, just toss the pod in the trash can—no need to buy a knock box for the used grounds, and no need to grind up those grounds in your garbage disposal. Miscela Blu is very delicious. Hope you love it as much as I do, if you decide to try it. Read more

We recently bought the De'Longhi EC155 15 BAR Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker . We bought both the red & the blue pods. My husband likes both the red & the blue. He has also become addicted to putting a shot of the red in his regular coffee. I like the blue, but the red is too strong for me. I'm a recent coffee convert because I had to stop my Rockstar addiction. I like making Lattes with coconut milk & a tsp. of instant milk, which seems to make it froth better. The blue is mild enough for me & is not bitter. I add flavored liquid stevia, especially cherry & raspberry chocolate, to my drinks. I know that makes the purists cringe, but it works for me! Since we are Costco shoppers, we like to buy in bulk & get quality coffee for a good price. Caffe Borbone fits the bill! We are very pleased with the new "espresso station" in our kitchen. When we were buying the coffee, we had a very hard time deciding on a flavor & we wished there had been a choice of samplers. There should be a choice of samplers with & without decaf. Samplers with decaf are a WASTE for us - we are drinking coffee for the caffeine & the decaf samples just gather dust!!! Read more

These pods are great in a latte or cappuccino. The have a full flavor that cuts through milk and have the caffeine to make a great morning drink. I enjoy them less as straight espresso. I have not been able to make a shot that wasn't at least slightly sour - a problem I don't have with Lucaffe Mr. Exclusive or Lavazza Gran Crema. The sourness is not at all noticeable in milk though, and I tend to grab a couple on for most weekday morning lattes. Read more

A while back, I bought an espresso maker that takes pods. I tried a few different brands, including ILY and Lavazza. The ILY tasted stale to me and didn't produce much crema. The Lavazza reminded me of Folgers. I ordered the Caffe Borbone based on the reviews and the Q&A, which answered several of my questions. For instance, I learned that the Miscela Rossa (red pack) is the strongest of Borbone's blends. (Worth noting that I did request a sample pack from the company, and they never returned my email). Anyway, I received my shipment this morning and have so far made six lattes. Each was consistent in quality and delicious. I've found my new brand! It's hardly worth mentioning, but I did count the packs and received 149 instead of 150. BFD, right? Also, the "tab" of one package somehow got into the seal and had to be torn so I could get it out, but again...no big deal. It was a small tear and the pod still did its job. Read more
