Gusto Crema arrived fast and fresh. I’ve tried several brands of whole bean coffee - from small, boutique roasters to large commercial producers (Illy, Lavazza). Bottom line, this coffee produces excellent espresso with incredible crema. It’s a medium roast that yields delicious flavor in line with its description. The value for me, I like 12 ounces per bag versus a 2.2 pound bag because I only drink a few shots of espresso per day and therefore it results in less spoilage for me. My personal preference is to dial in a grind setting of 20 grams of beans that yield between 38-45 grams of espresso output in 25-30 seconds. It’s a repeatable process that translates into amazing espresso every morning. This is my new go to bean for espresso! Give it a try. Read more

This is a very good quality coffee, especially for being decaf. And the flavor for the cost is probably the ideal ratio. It's a very approachable coffee. The flavor is distinct but mild, though I prefer my coffee a bit stronger/darker. I've managed to get the flavor a little more intense by using about 25% more per cup and by letting it steep an extra 30-60 seconds in my French press, but overall this is not the coffee for me. It doesn't have the boldness of the higher caliber brands that I usually drink (Intelligentia, La Colombe). The beans did arrive very fresh and were not overly oily (as some people have worried about), but if you like an especially bold or distinctive coffee, skip this one and just shell out the extra $7 for a better brand. using a Chemex, 34 grams of bean to 510 grams of water @ 202f and a 4 minute (including 30 seconds of soaking grounds) brew time with a quarter cup of warmed (I don't have a steamer yet) milk and this is now my favorite cup of coffee in the morning. I'm sure my "technique" is horrible for making coffee, and that is why most of the time I laugh when I hear snobs talk about "notes of cherry, or chocolate!", but if you are looking for what I was, kind of the mouth feel of a french press, with the clarity of a chemex, mixing these beans and my brew method was what worked for me.
