Living in the Sonoran Desert, summer temperatures frequently reach well above 100°F and the last thing I want to do is turn on the oven and raise the temperature in the house even higher, so for 7-8 months a year I prefer to cook everything on the BBQ instead of inside. When I discovered that the sparker/ignition switch on my BBQ had quit working this year I was having to get creative with different ways to light the flame on my propane BBQ, which scared me every time I had to light it. I decided to try this sleek and convenient electric arc lighter because it was just the right size to fit in the hole of my BBQ and was much safer than trying to use a spaghetti noodle like I had been doing. I appreciate that it allows my hand to stay 8 inches away from the flame while Igniting the gas, and I don't have to worry relighting a regular lighter over and over to keep a flame lit when there's a breeze outside. The arc lighter is very lightweight easy to operate, and has indicator lights to let you know when the power is turned on and the lighter is ready for use. Once you switch the power on, 4 blue LED lights illuminate and stay on, then to activate the electric arc, press and hold the round start button and the arc appears at the tip of the lighter and the blue LED change from all 4 lights on to each light illuminating one at a time in succession like runway lights. Once you release the start button the arc stops and all 4 lights stay on steady again until you slide the power button down to the off position. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the arc lighter arrived fully charged and ready for immediate use. I have had the lighter for over a week and used it to light the BBQ, tons of candles, the pilot light on the water heater, and brought it camping to light our portable propane stove, and I've only needed to charge the lighter once. This arc lighter has turned out to be useful for more than tasks than I originally intended to use it for and I plan to buy 2-3 more so I can keep one in my camping gear, one in the garage, and one in the family room where I light candles every night. I love that I don't have to turn the candle jars upside down anymore to light them and the lighter actually reaches the wick without being snuffed out from lack of oxygen or my hands getting soot on them from the inside of the glass jar the candle is in. This electric arc lighter save me time and keeps my hands clean and a safe distance from the flames. Best of all, I'm not afraid to light the BBQ or pilot light anymore so it's has given me peace of mind. One thing to note if you have pets: I noticed that anytime I press the start button on the lighter, the arc creates a static/electrical sound that, while very quiet, is unsettling to my animals and causes them to all leave the room as the sounds scares them. Not a major concern, but worth noting because even after 12 days of use my animals have not gotten use to the sound and all still leave the room when they see or hear the lighter. Their ears are much more sensitive to sounds than a human's and for some reason the electrical frequency this lighter emits is disturbing to both my cats and dogs. Read more
Arc lighter works well in wind and recharges quickly. The actual space for the arc to form is very narrow. This can be used for lighting wicks or similar but doesn't work well for lighting anything with a width larger than maybe 1/8 an inch. A friend tried using it on a cigar and he had to keep rotating it light one little section at a time. Read more
I didn’t have any experience with a lighter like this before I received it. I just happened to be going on a camping trip the day so I brought it with me. It was very handy as I was able to light my Coleman stove and the citronella candle with it. It charged fairly quickly and seemed to last a long time. I like the lights on the front that tell me how much of a charge it has. Read more
This electric lighter works well for lighting candles, and gas burners, but it's not perfect for other lighting uses. The device is easy to use and charging with USB-C is simple, the battery seems to last a long time, months without a charge and still lights our candles daily. The plastic tips at the top seem unsafe as they can catch fire when exposed to flame, and have had to blow them off while lighting a candle to keep the unit from fully catching fire. Just be careful not to expose the tip to flame and it should be fine. Read more

I had a lighter like this previously, but it died, which is why I decided to get this one. There is a lot to like about this lighter. First, it came with a full charge and works as intended. It has a few safety features like a safety switch as well as an auto off setting if it is on for more than 7 seconds. It recharges with USB-C which is nice to have in this day and age. I also like the silvery finish on it. Not sure what else there is to say. It Turns on with the push of a button and lights just about anything you need it to. The one thing that I didn't like was when I took it out of the box it had a blemish on the back of it. Not a big deal as it does not affect the functionality at all, but I thought I would mention it. I assume this was a one off defect. If you are looking for an arc lighter, this is a great option as it works great and has some safety features that me other one did not. Read more

There are probably still times when an open flame is needed, but none of them spring to mind right now. I love this little arc lighter for almost everything else. I absolutely LOVE that it is rechargeable. No more worrying about whether or not there are flints or fuel. No spilled fuel. There are so many advantages to this lighter. I love it for starting up campfires or the BBQ grill. Easy to use for so many applications. Love the indicator lights letting you know where the battery charge is. Very well done. Read more

This is the first time I have ever owned a lighter like this. The arcing line really improves safety when trying to light things because it doesn't have to rely on gravity due to a rising flame, or end up with dripping hot anything. It lights only where you want it to, with no real risk of burn. The fact it is rechargeable too means that I can very quickly and easily getting it going again rather than searching for a fresh lighter. My only gripe is that i wish the switch was a liiittle further down on the piece. Its about halfway up so it means really narrow or deep candles or stuff are not easy to get at to light. Read more
