Growing up, we called this muskmelon* and the name alone brings back a little nostalgia. I’ve ordered these cantaloupes a few times now, and they’ve consistently arrived fresh, fragrant, and full of flavor. The color is bright, the size is just right, and the price is usually a great value. Most of the time, they’re ready to eat right away, but sometimes I let one sit on the counter for a day or two so it can soften and sweeten just a touch more. 🍈 The flavor is exactly what you want — juicy, naturally sweet, and refreshing without being watery. Perfect for slicing and snacking, adding to a fruit salad, or mixing into smoothies or a light cocktail. 🍨 If you’re feeling playful, take a page from my childhood: cut a big wedge and put a great big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. As a special treat, my mom used to serve it this way, and we loved it. This is a nice melon. I tapped on it and it sounds nice and hollow nice and ripe. I can't wait to eat it. It looks and smells beautiful. Thank you, Amazon well I have to tell you I have since cut my cantaloupe up and I have been eating it. It is a sweet melon. It was a tad bit hard. It needed to sit out a couple of days before I cut it. I will do that next time I buy one but it was very tasty. Just a tad bit hard. It needed to ripen a couple of days. I love cantaloupe and keep ordering these from Amazon Fresh, hoping for a good one. They almost always arrive hard and usually don't ripen, even in a brown paper bag, but once in a while I get one that ripens and is omg delicious so I keep trying! Read more
