Pricey - But solid
Love these shirts, especially in the winter. Have two, same color. Might even get a third. They are heavy shirts, great quality, but man are Carhartt expensive. They sure like their name. Read more

These Carhartt shirts are favorites of my husband and brother-in-law. Read more
I need to start by saying I'm naturally comfortable in slightly colder climates since I live in Michigan. That aside... I've had this coat now for 2 years. I'm not in construction so I don't put this thing through it's paces but I've snagged it on stuff that would normally tear a coat. Not this one... this one is just indestructible. The main thing I want to highlight though is how well this handles cold. Today I shoveled snow for an hour in -3 degree temperature with a "feels like" temp of -30 and 25mph winds. I was sweating. Sweating! I had to open up the zipper and stand in the cold for a minute so I could cool down at the end. None of those gnarly gusts of wind even registered. I was warm the entire time. If this coat ever falls apart, unlikely, I'll immediately buy another one. Read more
The jacket fits well and seems to keep me warm even when wearing nothing but a short sleeve t-shirt underneath. The coldest its been since I bought the jacket has only been 35 ºF (i.e., not very cold), so we'll have to see if that holds once it actually gets wintry around here. One caveat: like others have posted here, I did order a size DOWN from my normal size—since I normally wear a medium, I ordered a small. That was a good choice. The small fits properly, like a medium normally would. Not too tight, not too baggy. However, if you plan to wear multiple, thick layers underneath, you may want to consider ordering your normal size. I can easily wear a light sweatshirt or fleece underneath (adequate layering for most winter days in Virginia), but several thicker garments may make this coat a bit tight. The only negative I should mention is that I don't care for how the sleeve cuffs "retract" into the body of the sleeve when your arms hang by your sides. You can see what I mean in the product photo—notice how you can't see the cuffs. This is by design, I think, maybe to protect the cuff fabric from getting snagged while you're out working, but it feels odd. Not enough to return the jacket, but a little irritating. Otherwise, I'm loving it so far! Read more
Perfect fit and very comfortable. Read more
I admit I am a total wuss. I bought this jacket because I end up in some pretty cool places. Yes I'm in CA and it's not freezing or anything, but throwing this on over a tee I'm nice and cozy when it's in the 40's. I got this because I needed something more than the thin sweatshirts I can get out here, and my heavier coat is just to bulky and obvious for some of the places I'm in. I really like that the sleeves are long enough ( I have really long arms), and that if I wanted to I could easily get a sweatshirt on underneath it without a struggle or it getting to restrictive. I'm really glad I listened to the posters on the women's version, and got this one instead because this is just about perfect. Read more
Ok, I realize that most (if not all) FR clothing is on the heavier side of clothing. I had to purchase FR clothing for a job at a chemical plant and went with this one due to Carhartt, generally, being quality and was rather affordable compared to many of the brands I found on here. THE problem was that it was summer in south Alabama and this shirt does not breathe well. So, this shirt will be perfect in the fall and winter... I just don't recommend it for warmer climates. The fit is a little on the larger size, so watch out for that (if it will be an issue for you) but it was not an issue for me at all. It's comfortable, and moves with you in an easy way. Read more
